Title: University Guy
Drabble: #27
TK's prompt: Jousting
Randomly selected pairing: Yamako
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: You have no idea how much trouble I had with this jousting prompt. And nobody's reviewing these drabbles anymore; it makes me sad. I think I'll go read some Taito doujinshi.

Miyako's not an unintelligent girl and, much like someone who Yamato really doesn't need to name, she always thirsts for more knowledge. It wasn't surprising to anybody when she was accepted into a top university, and she doesn't waste a moment of it. Whenever Yamato's practicing a new song or rehearsing for a gig, she makes sure she's on top of her studies.

At the moment, in fact, she's studying. Yamato is watching TV and half listening to her talking to him about medieval England. He doesn't see what's so great about it; all knights in shining armour and peasants wielding pitchforks. But she finds it interesting, so he has to listen at least sometimes.

His eyes narrow the slightest bit and suddenly she has his full attention when she mentions the name of an English student she met at the university. He's very attractive and smart, or so Yamato's been told, and he's helping Miyako understand about medieval England. Yeah, right. Yamato has long since convinced himself that this guy is only trying to get into his girlfriend's pants.

Not that he's worried about it. He's a popular rock star, and he's as hot as hell; he doesn't have anything to be worried about.

And he's already told Miyako dozens of times that she has to be careful around men who claim that they only want to help. It's not like she can't take care of herself, anyway.

She's babbling on about jousting, now. Apparently it was a sport from the medieval era where knights would charge towards each other on horses and attempt to prod each other off with a variety of weapons. Yamato can't help but ask if her English friend told her that too, and she replies that yes, he did. Why does he ask?

Because it sounds boring, that's why. So her English friend must be a very boring person, and obviously not a very good friend if all he'll teach her about is the boring stuff.

Actually, she argues, it's very interesting and it's really none of Yamato's business. Then she stops talking altogether, instead opting to study in silence.

It's a good thing Yamato isn't a jealous person.
