Hey everybody! Lately I've been thinking about Cats and looking at all the wonderful contests people are putting up, so I've decided to try my hand at one as well. The theme is as follows…

Ever notice the look that Demeter gives Bombalurina during the song "Macavity"? Right after Bomba sing/says "I know, he cheats, at cards," ? I know I have. Write a fic explaining why they looked at each other like that.

Okay, now the rules.

Nothing rated or needing a rating of M. This means no extreme violence or intimacy.

None of the following: Slash, Femslash, incest, or OCs. Also songfics are allowed but not encouraged because sometimes the song can kind of take over the story.

Stories may be any length, but at least 500 words is encouraged. Can be a one-shot, two-shot, multi-chapter, you decide. However, only the parts of the story that are finished when the deadline hits will be judged.

For something different, multiple entries are allowed and will be judged separately!

The contest deadline is August 20th, but you must let me know that you are going to enter by July 30th.

Stories will be judged on the Mechanics (spelling, grammar, etc.), Feel of the Story (dialogue, actions of characters, etc.), the "Real-ness" of the Characters (would Bomba really say that?), and Originality.

Everyone who finishes their story by the deadline will receive a lengthy review. In addition…

1st prize – Story Alert, Story Favorite, Author Alert, Author Favorite, a mention on my profile as the winner, and a review of three other selected stories.

2nd prize – Story Alert, Story Favorite, Author Alert, and a review of two other selected stories.

3rd prize – Story Alert, Story Favorite, and a review of one other selected story.

Also I will be giving out awards, such as (but maybe not all of them, it depends on how many entires)…
