Epilogue
By Random Classmate
Demitre looked at the new sun. It was coming up. The sky was red. he stood in front of his cabin. The wind blew through his hair, messing up his hair more than it already was. The door to the cabin door opened. A woman with long auburn-ish hair stepped out of the house. Her brilliant eyes met his. They kissed briefly. Two small children ran outside pushing them apart. Demitre laughed. She smiled at him. The little family watched the sun rise above the horizon.
The woman said, "Beautiful... isn't it?"
"Not half as beautiful as you, Mel. (yes she lived)" , Demitre replied.
"Eww!!! Mushy stuff!!" said little Neiressia. They all laughed.
Demitre continued looking at the ball of light. Then he noticed that it was getting smaller. He rubbed his eyes and looked again. The sun was shrinking. He gasped. If there wasn't a sun, the world would freeze. He told the children to go inside. Mel knew something was wrong. She stood up and pushed them gently inside.
"Demitre? What's wrong?" She stared at him. Her eyes told him that she was frightened.
"The sun is shrinking. Can't you tell? You are a seer." He looked again at the sun. She dropped her head.
"Yes, I knew. What are you going to do?" She put a hand on his chest. He's going to do something stupid I know he is!!! You're still an apprentice at the school of magic."
He paused. What was an apprentice who could barely light a candle going to do? He said, "I'm going to do anything I can." Her eyes grew wide
"NO! You'll get yourself killed! You can't go!" Tears ran down her cheeks. brushing them away he said,
"One life lost is better than one thousand. I have to."
"Why don't you just tell someone?!" she said still crying.
"What if they don't do anything! What if I try to tell them and they don't listen and everyone dies! I have a chance to save millions of people! So what if I die! I would have died an honorable death protecting millions! I am taking care of my family! What would you do if you could save someone?!" he said harshly. His face turned purple. She looked away. She couldn't stop him but she might be able to help him.
After a long pause she said, "I'm going with you."
Demitre's eyes widened. "Mel! Don't! You could be killed!'
"Just as easily as you. I knew about this and I am going to help you. We'll get a group of people who believe us together and go to the realm of the gods. They will know what's happening." He tried to counter her but he couldn't say anything. She smiled and went inside. He paused, then followed her. They would be going on a mission. They were probably going to loose their lives. They were going to hopefully save the world.
Hey guess what! I am going to write a sequal! Yay! It's gonna suck though. All sequals suck. Oh well! This was actually the prologue to the next one and the epilogue to Melquiades. Stay tuned! -Rc
