One-sided Goodbye
My first story! If I do anything wrong, please tell me.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fire emblem, death, or anything famous…
"I'm sorry, Grandmother…My duty…" Saleh whispered between gasps of pain.
Saleh had been struck by a swipe of a silver blade and fell hard on his knees.
"You're finished, sage!" A Grado swordmaster said to Saleh before raising his heavy, silver sword and dropping it on the spell caster's dying shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Ewan…I wish I could…" Saleh whispered as his last tears fell.
Saleh was now lying on his side on the floor of Rausten's throne room. Ewan saw this and screamed.
"L'Arachel!" Ewan shouted.
"I'm sorry, child, but there is nothing I can do" L'Arachel responded mournfully.
The murderous swordmaster that had struck Saleh was now smiling maliciously, staring at Ewan.
"You're next, kid!" He shouted while preparing his bloody blade for another effortless murdering.
"Ewan, step back. I'll handle this heathen!" L'Arachel demanded in a heroic tone.
"No, he's mine. I have to avenge my teacher!" Ewan shouted angrily.
Ewan opened the Fire tome he was carrying and prepared to cast Fire. He swiftly moved his hands in a strange motion before raising his arm and summoning a large storm of fireballs. The storm was stronger than normal spells of Fire. It was a fueled by anger and revenge.
After a flash of orange light, a pillar of fire rose from the ground where the Grado soldier stood. In the middle of the pillar, the shadowy silhouette of the sword-wielder fell to the ground…Dead. After the spell was finished, the swordmaster lay dead and burned on the charred tile floor of Rausten's throne room. A tower of onyx smoke rose from the body. The body's once silver blade was now resting on the blackened floor, melting onto the tiles.
Now, Ewan was running toward his teacher's body, crying.
"Saleh, why? I…I…Goodbye…" Ewan whispered sadly.
Ewan was kneeling by his mentor, mourning. He was dwelling on only one thought: "Love has no place in war."
For those of you who don't understand the title, this is what I was saying:
One-sided Goodbye Ewan was the only one of him and Saleh that said goodbye, because Saleh didn't have time to say it.
