Hermione and Ron one-shot :) My favourite HP couple
"A loving son and brother, a true hero. Fred Weasley, rest in peace." The short wizard sent a shower of sparks over the grave that lay in the grounds of Hogwarts, beside the countless others that died that day. The Weasley family, Harry and Hermione had gathered around the headstone of Fred's grave. Mrs Weasley was sobbing uncontrollably, kneeling beside the headstone, using her husband for support. Ginny's face was buried into Percy's chest, and her shoulders shook, her hand in Harry's, and Bill and Charlie were holding up George by his elbows, who looked like he was about to pass out with grief. Only Ron stood quietly, his eyes shut, head bowed. He stayed calm, was prevented from breaking down and sobbing by the comfort of Hermione Granger's arms wrapped around his waist. The funeral was over and all but Mrs Weasley, Mr Weasley and George departed. Hermione stroked Ron's cheek. "Ron, please, it's over. Open your eyes." Ron shook his head slowly. "I can't believe he's…gone."
"None of us can, Ron, but you have to listen to me. Let's…let's just go, Ron, let's just go somewhere. I can't bear it here." Hermione's voice shook as she tried to keep back the tears. Her eyes scanned the morbid scene of families surrounding the graves of loved ones, of people tending to the injured. Ron opened his eyes. "Go where?"
"I don't know, just you, me and Harry, for a while. While things settle down."
"Okay."
Hermione led Ron towards Harry, who had just said goodbye to Ginny as she had Disapparated with her brothers to the Burrow.
"Harry, shall we go?" He nodded. They held hands and, with a turn, Dispparated away from the rows and rows of graves that would forever haunt the Hogwarts grounds.
The young wizards found themselves outside a house. "Our home, until I break the enchantment on mum and dad." They entered Hermione's house, and Ron immediately collapsed onto the sofa, his head in his hands.
"Make us some tea, Harry. I just need to…" she waved in the general direction of Ron. "Sure."
Hermione sat down beside Ron. "Ron, look at me."
Ron looked up. "Ron, do you love me?" Ron wiped the tears from his face.
"Yeah," he croaked.
"Do you love me enough to trust me?" He nodded.
"Well, trust me when I say that Fred wouldn't want us to be sad. He would want us to laugh, to enjoy life. The one thing I've learnt from the past year is that life is too short for tears and anger – we've got to enjoy what's with us and what will always be with us and leave the past for our memories. I miss Fred so much, and Tonks and Remus but...but this is the peaceful, Voldemort-free society we've been fighting for for so long. We need to be happy."
"Do you love me, Hermione?" said Ron.
"Of course. I…I think I've always loved you."
And when Harry entered the living room carrying three mugs of tea, he saw his two friends sharing their second kiss.
