Ch.1 The One Thing in the World
Lydia sighed agitatedly as she paced the hallways of her bedroom. The chastity and innocence within the room seemed unfit for her presence as she thought back on what she had did only a few weeks ago. At the time a night of anonymous passion in a rank bar seemed like a good idea; having fled there after her mother's boss had hassled her at the FBI office and tried to come on to her. Then after being denounced as a liar by her mother who couldn't comprehend the offence the frustrated minor left the agency in her mother's car. Engulfed in anger and frustration, Lydia had drank far more than she had before and after blacking out she could hardly remember any of the events that took place. The only results that could prove to her it wasn't a dream were the bruises and aches. Lydia had crept back into the upstairs bedroom, her absence unnoticed by her mother 'Clarice Starling' the eternally busy FBI agent who was always harping on finding one criminal or another. Having been unimpressed with her mother's business with the feeble and impertinent government she never took much of an interest. She had never met her father and with her mother always at work it seemed only too easy to get away with anything. Lydia brought herself back to the present and glanced at the clock hastily. It beamed 6:30; her mother would be arriving soon. Clarice had been traveling on an urgent Government Issue; one of the few that many could not hear about for fear of uprising so even Lydia herself was not permitted to learn what had happened, nor did she care. Frantically she decided there wasn't anything in the world to stop her from leaving. Being caught 6 weeks pregnant by her mother was more than she could bear. So she grabbed a burgundy suitcase and placed a few items in it including her bulging wallet and began to walk outside when she saw a looming shadow of a person at the front gate of the large house. She calmed herself quickly when she came to the knowledge it was just a man. But still she had never once laid eyes on the pale blue eyed individual whose orbs seemed to scan her soul. He stared coolly at Lydia and said, "Why hello there will you please address Clarice that Dr. Lector has arrived."
