1. Summer
He takes her in his arms and spins her around as she laughs loudly. They calm down and he looks at the older version of the girl in his embrace.
'She's all yours.' Blair says smiling and handing him a small purple travel bag. His girl's favorite color.
He nods and takes it with a small grin back. 'How's Colin?'
A polite question because they aren't in High School anymore. He's not a spoiled asshole and she's not a cold hearted bitch. At least not when it comes to their family. Because like it or not they will be one forever.
'He's fine, working a lot on some new project.' She replies with similar kindness. 'Probably makes up for the time we've spent in France.'
'Say hi for me. We'll be going now, right baby?' He asks the five years old.
'Yes, daddy. I want to see Daisy.' She beams excitedly thinking about her kitty. 'Bye, mum!'
Little Emma waves and Chuck nods as she and her dad walk away in his limo direction.
'Bye, honey.' The older brunette returns the gesture and observes as they enter the car.
She sighs and turns around to go home. After a year she still sees the hope in his eyes every time they meet to pick up Emma. And with every passing day it gets harder to walk away. But she made her choice and there's no way back.
