The Color Red

My name is Jason Lee Scott, I am a freshman in high school, my dad's a detective on the police force and mom works at the hospital as a nurse, I'm I just a typical fifteen year old teenager, except that I'm not. Just a few weeks ago, I had become a Power Ranger, the Red Power Ranger. I am now a leader, a fighter, a soldier in a war with evil. Now the color red means so much more. The color red means hope and bravery. It means courageous and fearless. For the last few weeks, whenever a monster shows up around the city, my friends, who are the other rangers, and I, will always show up. We will never give up and we will fight until the end, this is what the color red symbolizes. Zordon, our mentor chose the five of us to protect the world, he chose us to fight for the lives of those that we care about, he chose us to do what is right. The color red will always protect, will always defend, will always fight.

The color red is also a leader. Zordon chose me as the leader. To lead my team, my friends into battle. With me being chosen as the leader, I have doubts, several of them. I am so new to being a power ranger, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, let alone know how to be a leader. And yet, Zordon chose me to be the leader, I don't know his reasons for doing so, but I do know that he believes in me, he believes that I am a leader, that I can protect this city, and that is what I will do, because the leader is always in the color red. I will become the leader that Zordon believes that I can be, because I am the color red.

But the color red also represents other things. It symbolizes pain and fear. Ten color red represents blood, both metaphorically and literally. We bleed the color red in this battle against evil. The blood from our wounds see through the fabric, the scars paints a pictures of an already terrible war. But I hide the blood and the scars from my team, I hold in the fear that I am sometimes consumed in, I hold in the pain that this war have left me in. But being brave isn't about not feeling fear, being brave is about being afraid but still doing something despite that fear. That courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it; the brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. I use this keep fighting, that I'm not necessarily braver than someone else, but that I got chosen to do something that has s greater purpose in life. That I was meant to do something more.

The Angel Grove, with evil on the horizon, a war in our midst that none of us started or wanted, the color red has meaning. And I hope that I can be all that I can be, that I can be a soldier and a leader. But I know that no matter what, I won't have to do this alone, that I'm not the only one that is and will be going through these thoughts and emotions. And hopefully, one day we will stop the evil that is Rita Repulsa and her monsters so that this city will stop living in fear and terror. But until that day, the Red Power Ranger will always show up to fight.
The End!
