Chapter 1: Return

"I will be your slave."

Those words that the Goblin King had uttered to Sarah just before she had defeated him had haunted her every night since she had left the Labyrinth six years ago. She should have been finishing the latest cuddly creation she was working on, but all she could think about was whether or not she made the right decision at the end of the Labyrinth. She looked down at the cuddly toy that was taking the shape of one of the red haired headhunters from the Labyrinth and sighed in longing for the magical world. Then there was a knock at the door and Sarah realised she was expecting her Father to be coming round to drop off Toby for her to look after him rather her Father and Stepmother went to the theatre. Sarah got up from her sofa ad went to answer the door. As soon as she opened the door, a whirlwind of a child rushed into her apartement. The mass of fun was in fact Toby who was 6 and 1/2 years and full of curiosity and energy. Sarah sighed and said,

"Oh Toby, you are always in such a hurry and full of so much energy."

Her Father walked in and replied,

"Ah Sarah, he is only six years old, you can't expect him to not be full of energy."

Sarah laughed, hugged her father and said,

"You do have a point. Still, I have babysitted him enough, so I should be more used to it, but he is just so hyper all the time."

Toby ran up to Sarah, hugged her leg tight and asked,

"Sawah, what are we doing tonight?"

Sarah crouched down to look at Toby and replied,

"Well, I thought we could play some board games. How does that sound to you?"

Toby screwed up his face in disdainment and grumpily replied,

"No! I wanna read the Goblin King story again!"

Since Toby had began to understand what he was being read, he had demanded almost everytime he was being read to by Sarah to hear the Labyrinth. Sarah had believed that it was because Toby had remebered some of the events that happened when he was in the Labyrinth and made the connection to the story when he became more developed. Sarah gave in and nodded in submission to Toby's demand. Toby cried out with joy and ran around the room again. Sarah turned to her Father and spoke,

"Well tonight is going to be tiring."

Her Father laughed and replied,

"Oh you will probably have just as much fun as Toby does. Now darling, I must be going because your StepMother is waiting at home to get going. Have fun, if you need anything, just give me a call."

Sarah gave her Father another quick hug and replied,

"Ok, have fun. See you later."

Three hours later, Toby was completely out for the count slumbering on the sofa. Toby had demanded that Sarah read him the story of the Labyrinth three times before he was satisfied. Sarah sat next to the slumbering child and looked down at the copy of the Labyrinth. Sarah had felt a strange of pang of longing when she had been reading the story to Toby. She really did miss the magical world of the Labyrinth, though she would not admit to herself that most of that longing was for a certain handsome Goblin King. Sarah spent what seemed like an eternity thinking about what would have happened if she had made a different decision and stayed in the Goblin Kingdom. She closed her eyes and allowed her mind to take her back to her time in the Labyrinth and she was able to remember all the amazing times, then she found herself remebering how she had called on the Goblin King to take her brother her away and before she had realised what she had said the words were spoken,

"I wish the Goblin King would come and take meaway."
