So, my second fanfiction! Hope you like it!

Kagome watched as Inuyasha made an excuse and ran off, towards the direction of Kikyo's soul. She could always feel when Kikyo was around, due to the piece of her soul that Kikyo had taken. And it always hurt to see Inuyasha run off to her.
She had developed a crush on Inuyasha over time and thought that he was also interested. But his actions to Kagome were contradicted by his actions to Kikyo, time and time again. And despite her attempts to move on, Kagome's heart continued to belong to Inuyasha. But one day, she silently vowed to herself, she would find a guy that would love her with his entire heart and soul.
Her heart skipped a beat when she felt Inuyasha and Kikyo move closer to the group's resting spot as well Sesshomaru. Judging by Miroku's knowing gaze, he felt it too. Trouble was coming.
And trouble came. Sesshomaru walked into the campsite, followed by Rin. He headed to Kagome, his face blank. As he moved his hand to give her something, Inuyasha's Wind Scar rang through the air, straight towards the two. Kagome froze, as Sesshomaru wrapped his arm around her waist and jumped high into the air. She watched in shock as the Wind Scar travelled over her previous location and on into the forest.
She had not foreseen this. As Sesshomaru gracefully landed, she launched herself at Inuyasha and smacked him as hard as she could. Had it not been for Sesshomaru, she would have died. She was so angry; she could not speak and was trembling all the way down to her toes. Adding to her fury, Kikyo was standing behind Inuyasha, a smirk on her face as she stared at Kagome.
Opening her mouth, she closed it, unable to speak. She turned to Sesshomaru and still trembling, reached for the jewel share he held in his hand. He released it instantly, watching her intensely as she purified it to a light pink. When she moved to hand it over, he shook his head and spoke, "A gesture of goodwill."
With that he crossed the clearing to sit at an undamaged tree where Rin was waiting patiently. Rin then ran over to Shippo and began chatting excitedly with him. Kagome, still staring at Sesshomaru, began to smile. She ignored Inuyasha and placing the offered jewel shard with the rest, went to sit with Sango and Miroku. Yes, she would definitely move on.
