Themes #1 to #10

#1 Locked

Sometimes, Kyo selfishly wonders if Tohru could be locked up with him. Akito and the others would probably disagree, Uotani and Hanajima would wonder what happened to them, but Tohru would agree happily, as always, with a cheery smile on her graceful features. He would be happy. It would probably blind him from seeing the forced smile on her fallen grace.

#2 Numbered Days

From the moment he was born, his days of freedom were numbered. He counted the days in his mind, his heart passing each day dreading the next. Until he met her. He stopped counting because he did not want to know how many days he had left to see her smile.

#3 Strawberries

"I love strawberries!" She proclaimed; "I had a feeling you would," he smiled.

The eavesdropping Kyo wondered why he hadn't known that fact before Yuki.

#4 Leek

When Yuki pinched his nose and forced the bunch of one-of-his-most-hated-foods-in-the-world into his mouth, Kyo decided that if Tohru cooked it, it was more or less acceptable.

#5 Personal

When Momiji asks if he wants to marry Tohru, Kyo would snap for him to "shut up and mind your own business." But with a little prodding, encouragement and threat, Kyo would set off to buy an engagement ring.

#6 Variation

Kyo's moods vary according to Tohru. If she smiled, he blushed; if she cried, he got worried; if she got angry—well, that never happened.

#7 Permission

"If you call me Mother, I will forgive you for taking Tohru away."

"What?"

"Do you want me to run away with Tohru to the other end of the world?"

"What?"

"Are you that stupid?"

"Yeah, he is, actually."

Kyo felt that what was overused, thus remained quiet.

#8 Bridesmaid and Best Man

On the day of their wedding, Saki Hanajima was Tohru's bridesmaid, while Uotani Arisa fought Shishou to be the Best Man. Kyo could only look on, feeling agitated.

#9 Tripped

Poor, nervous Tohru tripped on her way down the aisle. Kyo was torn, he didn't know if he could rush to help Tohru up or not.

#10 Mother…?

Kyo was only too happy. He had his newly wed wife beside him and a glass of champagne in his other hand. Then—

"Call me Mother, Kyo."

He turned around, surprised, "Mother…?"

To his horror, Saki's eyes lit up like torches and fluttered like butterflies.

"He finally recognizes me…!"

His glass of champagne shattered into pieces on the floor.
