- Prompt: an otp, an office and a squeaky chair. -

Emma Swan was bored. She huffed as she leant back in the black leather chair. She glanced up at the clock and listened to the monotonous tick-tock as time seemed to pass at a deathly slow rate. She wanted to be doing something. She hated sitting around. It seemed everyone but her was busy.

She'd been given a few days holiday from the station because every had insisted that the blonde was looking stressed lately and should take some time for herself. This didn't go down well with the her.

A few days ago:

"Emma, are you sure you don't need to take a few days off? I can handle everything here ya know." This was the fifth time David had asked this question and for the fifth time Emma replied with:

"Dad, I'm fine." Although Emma felt nothing but fine. The long nights at the station and the early morning starts around Storybrooke were starting to take their toll on the young woman, but she wouldn't admit it to anyone not even her wife, Regina.

Eventually Emma cracked and gave into everyone's pleas to take a three day holiday from work. Her mother, Snow, had been pleading with her all day. Her wife, Regina, had commented on numerous occasions over dinner about how exhausted she looked and even Henry, her son, had made the odd comment about her working a lot.

"Fine!" Emma caved the next day as her best friend, Killian Jones, came into the station to bring her usual grill cheese sandwiches. He'd only just handed over the take-out bag and joked that she was looked like she needed to be put under a sleeping curse for a few centuries to recover that the blonde finally snapped.

She grabbed the take-out bag and waltzed past her father and friend before going outside and sitting in her yellow bug, slamming the door.

That night, over a Swan-Mills family dinner, Emma once again complained about how little she had to do now. She'd even tried to bribe Regina into letting Henry stay off school just so she'd had someone to talk to. That did not go down well with older brunette.

After a heated argument, which Regina won, the brunette groaned. "That's it." She yelled, getting up from her chair. Henry and Emma both glanced at once another, worry coursing their features. "Henry, have you finished your dinner?" Regina looks at her son who nodded silently. "Okay, well you can go into the sitting room and watch some cartoons."

As the young boy walked past his blonde mother he quietly whispered "You're in trouble." He let out a slight giggle and ran into the living room.

Emma gulped and looked up at her wife. "Regina, I-"

Before she could continue the brunette cut her off. "Emma." She sighed. "I can't take it anymore. Honey, you've been told to take this holiday so you can relax." She walked over to the blonde and placed her hands on either side of her shoulders, slowly massaging the tension out of them. Emma let out a low, soft, moan at the touch. Her eyes slowly closing at the comfort "All this stress about having nothing to do all day is not helping you to relax. So-" She took her hands off her wife's shoulders and clapped them together, continuing. "Tomorrow you're going to come to work with me. I'm sure I can find something that you can do to keep you occupied for a few hours."

With the clap ringing through her ears Emma's eyes sprang open. "I'm sure we can find something too." Emma purred, quickly standing up and placing a soft gentle kiss on her wife's lips.

Present day:

That had been two days ago and Emma was beginning to lose her mind. Sure, she slept easier at the minute due to not having to be up at 6am and only managing to crawl into bed at two o clock in the morning, but during the day she was bored. Everyone she knew was working. Snow was teaching at the school, David was working at the station, Killian was down at the docks, Regina was in her office and Henry was at school. She had no one, until Regina opted for babysitting duty over the blonde.

Now she was in Regina's office and still bored out of her mind. The former queen had got her sorting out pieces of coloured paper that Emma wasn't really paying attention to. She sighed again, leaning back further in her chair. As she leaned back the wheels moved backwards slightly and a soft squeak was emitted from them. A smile cursed Emma's lips as she heard the sound. She glanced over at Regina and saw her head buried in a mountain of paperwork. Before she had a chance to think it over Emma moved backwards again and just as she predicted another squeak was heard. She giggled to herself.

Glide, squeak, giggle. . Glide, squeak, giggle. Glide, squeak, giggle. Glide, squeak, giggle

After the fourteenth squeak Regina's head felt like it was going to explode. "Emma!" She quipped. The short haired women rested her fingers on the side of her head and slowly massaged them. "Will you please stop that, honey?" She said, regaining some of the control over her emotions.

"Sorry... I've finished sorting out the papers and I'm bored." Emma knew that over the past few days she had been impossible, but it was everyone else's brilliant idea to get her to take a holiday. Not hers. The blonde stood up from her chair, wheeling it back to let out one final squeak which earned her a glare from her wife. "Oops!" She exclaimed.

"Emma-" Regina sighed, taking her glasses off and dangling them in her right hand. "It's almost 3pm, why don't you go meet Henry from school?" I'm sure he'd love it." At the thought of seeing her son Emma's heart soared.

"Are you sure? You don't need my help around here anymore?" Emma offered her wife a bashful smile and it warmed Regina's heart.

"No, dear, I promise. I've just got these last few columns to fill out before I meet with the board and then I'll be home. Go spend some time with Henry." As much as Regina loved her wife she couldn't wait for a bit of peace and quiet.

"I will see you at home. Good luck with the meeting!" Emma, in pure excitement of relieving her boredom, grabbed her leather jacket off her chair and ran out the door. The door slammed behind her and Regina sighed in content.

The brunette placed her glasses back on her face and began to study the papers in front of her. Just then the door to her office swung open and before she had a chance to see who it was she felt delicate hands cupping her jaw and a strong but gentle kiss being placed on her lips.

Regina melted into the kiss before Emma pulled away, leaving Regina slightly breathless. "What was that for?" The Mayor eventually asked.

"It was an apology-thank you kiss." Emma grinned at her.

"You're going to have to explain that, Miss Swan." Regina said with a sense of flirtation in her voice.

"The thank you was for letting me come to work today and the sorry is for having to put up with my awful mood for the past few days. I'm sorry, babe." She smiled again and Regina couldn't help but smile back.

'Damn her wife was cute.' She thought to herself.

"Now, I'm going to go pick Henry up. I love you!" The blonde hollard as she walked out the door

"I love you too!" Regina called back, before scribbling away on the forms in front of her a smile never leaving her lips.
