The Yearly 365 Challenge

Prompt #47 (Scenario) - "we're the only ones on campus who didn't go for Christmas" au

"So why didn't you really go home for Christmas B?" Veronica rested her head on her hand which was prompt up on the blonde's bed. Her right eye brow rose. "You don't seem the type whom would miss an ol' hometown Christmas type of girl." She waited for the blonde to answer.

Betty shrugged. "I just didn't feel like going home is all."

"Whom broke your heart?" Veroncia frowned at the thought of someone whom would dare break the heart of the most sweetest of all sweathearts of the entire world.

Betty slightly shook her head. "It was ages ago. Sides I always knew that he wouldn't return my feelings for him." She breathed out. "I just had to get the words out … and I had to hear him tell me that he didn't feel t he same for me; in order for me to finally move on with my life."

"Archie." Veronica nodded. She fully knew of Betty's childhood crush on her next door neighbore. She had learned that from her dormmate within the first month of living together. She held hard feelings towards the ginger haired boy of course … because come on … whom wouldn't be hopelessly in love with Betty Cooper. But in time she truly saw that Archie truly didn't set out to hurt her … that he felt for Betty as he would as a sister. Veronica warmed up to Archie a little bit after that.

Betty flopped back on her bed; her head hitting her pillow. "My sister and her kids are actually out of town; my brother is off on an adventure. Archie and Jughead aren't even going to be in Riverdale due to them going on a father and son bonding trip with their dads. My parents aren't together anymore … it's just hard to be home when there isn't really a buffer between my mother and I."

Veronica's eyes furrowed at the thought of Betty's mother.

"So why didn't you go home?" Betty asked.

"Mami and Smithers are off in Italy. I don't want to spend any time with my father." Veronica's eyes never leaving the blonde's face. "So with both us staying on campus this Christmas … and we are basically the only ones here. How about we have a small Christmas for ourselves?" She smiled softly.

Betty sat up with her right leg pulled up to her chest. "I would like that Ronnie." She softly smiled. "I all ready got you a gift. I was going to give it you before you left." Soft pink warmed her cheeks.

"I got you a gift also." Veronica smiled as she simply stared up into the slightly pink face of her roommate. "So how about we get a small Christmas tree for our dorm. We still have time to buy some lights for it … I saw that Target still has lights."

"Let's go then." Betty didn't move.

"Let's go then." Veroncia didn't move.

The two girls giggled as they realized that they hadn't moved for a good two minutes. They got off the bed and left the dorm. They had a Christmas tree and lights to buy after all.
