Regina was sat on the floor of her front room. Henry was sat a few spaces away from her. Prior to sitting on the floor, Regina had spread Henry's Bob the Builder playmat so they could sit in comfort. "Come on, Henry." The Mayor had been trying to coax her son into standing up and walking for the past five minutes, to which she'd had no luck. Henry was now ten months old with brown hair and the biggest brown eyes. The little prince had managed to stand up by himself a few weeks ago and since then the Mayor had been trying to get her son to walk at every open opportunity. This was her third attempt today.

In her right hand she held Henry's most prized possession; his grey toy rabbit which had long floppy ears. "Henry! Henry, what's this? Ah, what's mommy got? Has mommy got Mr Rabbit?" Regina looked at her son with wide eyes and spoke to him in a light sing song voice. In response to her questions Henry just giggled. "Yes, does my little prince want his rabbit?" She asked again, to which Henry giggled even more. "Come on then, baby. Come and get the rabbit." She brought the toy forward ever so slightly to try and charm him into walking over to grab the rabbit.

Henry was not having any of it. He just laughed, again, and produced a tiny spit bubble before clapping at his own silliness. Regina sighed, giving up. Just at that moment the doorbell rang and Henry turned his head to look at the door. "Shall we go see who that is my little prince?"

With that Regina picked Henry up, resting him on her hip and walked to her front door. Before opening it, she composed herself, ready to greet whoever was on the other side. Her hand turned the handle of the white door to reveal Mary Margaret.

"Miss Blanchard, how can I help you?" Regina asked in a clipped tone.

"Hello, Madame Mayor, I thought you could do with some food so I brought you a basket of goodies." Miss Blanchard smiled her sweet smile and looked from the basket, in her hand, to the Mayor.

"That was kind of you, Miss Blanchard, but I've just eaten." The Mayor was about to turn around and walk back inside when the raven-haired teacher continued.

"Oh, well keep it anyways. It wasn't much bother and I know how hard it can be looking after a baby. You need all the help you can get." She held the basket out for the Mayor to take and with a subtle eye roll Regina did.

"Thank you, now if you don't mind we're busy."

"Oh yes... Of course." Just as Mary Margaret was about to leave Henry gave out a loud cry.

Regina immediately started bouncing him on her hip, gently shushing him. Just then a slight laugh escaped her lips "One mention of food and you remember you're hungry. Come on, mommy will make you some lunch."

"Would you like some help? I don't mind looking after him whilst you make his lunch, or vice-versa." Regina didn't know what to say. She'd usually strap Henry into his baby bouncer whilst she made food, so he wouldn't flood the house with his tears. As much as she didn't want to accept help of anyone, especially Miss Blanchard, she knew it would be easier.

Mary Margaret had gone into the living room with Henry whilst Regina made her son his bottle. She felt it would be easier for her to do the food since she knew her kitchen better than anyone. Whilst waiting for the bottle to warm Regina kept listening to Miss Blanchard amusing her son in the living room. "The wheels on the bus go round and round..." This was the fourth song the school teacher had been singing to her son and from the confides of the kitchen Henry's excited giggles and screams could be heard.

When Regina walked into the living room to bring Henry his bottle Mary Margaret had just finished singing about the three little piggy's. "Thank you for your help, Miss Blanchard, but I think we'll be okay now." Regina smiled down at her baby and soon after Henry was back in his mother's arms as the teacher exited the mansion.

Just before she walked through the door she stopped, turned and spoke "Mayor Mills, you're so lucky to have Henry. He's very precious." The comment took the Mayor by surprise and left her speechless. She just smiled and looked down at her son with glee, indeed knowing how lucky she was to have Henry in her life.

Before Regina fed Henry, an idea came to mind, which she soon put to the test. Regina held the bottle up to Henry and he smiled.

"Come to momma, Henry. Come on! Look what mommy's got for her prince." She showed Henry the baby bottle, full of milk, and an automatic smile crept onto his chubby little face. It took him a few attempts, but the small baby brunette eventually pulled himself up into a standing position. Even though she'd see her son do this often enough, every time he did it again it brought tears of joy to her face. "Well done, my little prince. Now, come and get the bottle off mommy. Come on."

Henry hastily put one foot forward. "Oh my god, Henry!" Regina wanted to cry with excitement. She could feel the hope bubbling inside her. "Now the other foot." She said as he put the right leg in front, before wobbling slightly. He held onto the side of the sofa for support. He only needed to take a few more steps and he'd be able to have his reward.

"Come on Henry. You're nearly their baby. Come on." He stopped for a second as if his brain was trying to process what to do next. Regina shook the baby bottle and like magic his senses cleared and his placed his left foot forward. He wobbled again, but couldn't regain his stance and fell. Landing on his bottom.

Regina let out a gasp before tutting in a comical way, "Silly Henry. Come on, try again. That's it. You can do it. Mommy knows you can." Regina's voice was so light and full of hope that it was like Henry understood. The little bouncing babe creased his brow and pulled himself into a standing position once again.

This time he seemed to remember what he was doing straight away as he took the last two steps into Regina outstretched hands. The baby Mills did just that and before he knew it he was being whizzed through the air by his mom who was extremely proud of him.

She stopped spinning him, even though his laughter proved that he was enjoying the motion, and placed a light kiss onto his forehead. Tears formed in the corner of her eyes and she held him close to her chest. "Mommy is so proud of you, my little prince!"

Henry gurgled back in response and the pair soon sat on the sofa where Regina finally gave her son the reward of nice, warm milk.

Author's Note: Hey guys, so that was the first chapter. Just a lot of fluff basically. I hope you enjoyed it. Writing this first chapter proved to be a real challenge for me. I've never written for these characters before, but I'm hoping I did them justice. I'm kinda worried that I might have made Regina too soft, but then again, I feel like she would be when it came to Henry in his early years. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks!P.S If you have any ideas for anymore RegalBeliever chapters for the future let me know and I'll be sure to try and do your idea justice!
