For the Drabble Game Challenge (LorcanLucy, Fireplace, requested by Danie)

Lorcan proudly holds up the bag of marshmallows. "Fancy toasting a few?" he asks with a grin.

Lucy raises her brows. Her eyes flicker to the window. Outside, the snow continues to fall, forming a thick blanket on the ground. Even with a fire, they would freeze before they sat down. "In a snowstorm?" she laughs. "You've come up with some strange ideas, but this is the strangest."

He rolls his eyes, nudging her gently with his shoulder. "That's your problem, Luce," he teases. "No imagination."

She scowls at her husband. She has been accused of being many things over the years, but never unimaginative. "So, shall we start a fire in the house and roast marshmallows as the place burns down?"

His brows raise. Lucy groans. Sarcasm often goes over his head, and she hopes that he doesn't get any ideas from her joke.

"To be fair, you did mention hating the carpet."

"Lorcan!"

He grins, only slightly apologetic, before gesturing for her to follow him. She does, frowning when he does, indeed, come to a stop in the living room.

"We already have a fire," he points out, nodding towards the fireplace before summoning a couple of skewers.

"That's actually brilliant," Lucy admits, accepting a skewer and putting a marshmallow on the end.

"Ravenclaw," he reminds her, tapping a finger against his temple for emphasis. "We happen to be quite clever."

Lorcan moves the blanket from the couch the floor and sits down, patting the spot beside him. Grinning, Lucy joins him, carefully pushing her skewer over the flames. She rests her head on her husband's shoulder as she watches the fire paint the marshmallow a light golden color.

"I love our date nights," she murmurs, kissing his cheek. "Roasting marshmallows in the middle of winter."

"Just wait. We're going to build a snow fort in July."

With a small smile, Lucy removes her marshmallow from the fireplace. She doesn't know if he's serious, but she's learned not to put anything past him when he sets his mind to it. After all, his brilliant mind and gentle heart are the very things that made her fall in love with him to behind with.
