Lethonomia

Hey, this is just a random drabble that I wrote hoping that it will stop my writers block for my other story "The Things That Can Change'

"I'm so sorry!" you exclaimed, completely embarrassed. Since you were a child, you had always had a way of forgetting a person's name almost as soon as it had been said. It was a blessing and a curse - a blessing because half the time you didn't really care anyway, a curse because the other half of the time you ended up embarrassing yourself immensely.

This time, it was a curse. "I'm so bad with names. I always remember someone's face; but for some reason, names never seem to stick," you rambled, glancing up sheepishly. Admittedly, you were pretty good at remembering faces, but even if you weren't you would have never forgotten meeting this man. He was by no means a conventional form of handsome — tall and pale with hardly any muscles to speak of — but you found him incredibly attractive nonetheless. It may have been his deep brown eyes that were just few shades darker than his disheveled hair. Or maybe it was the way he licked his lips before he talked. Or it could have even been how knowledgeable he seemed about even the most uncommon topics. Whatever it was, you found him completely endearing.

He cleared his throat and that adorable blush tinted his cheeks again. "Ah... I'm Doctor Spencer Reid," he replied, glancing away from you. "A-actually, lethonomia, o-or the inability to recall a person's name, is r-relatively common... I-I've met plenty of people who have trouble remembering names."

You grinned at him. "Thanks, but I still feel bad for forgetting," you responded. "Tell you what, why don't we go grab a coffee and I'll try to remember your name for the next time we see each other?"
