A/N: My second Eric/Nell fic. It's a one-shot that takes place sometimes after the Season 2 finale and the Season 3 premiere. Enjoy!

Nell and Eric sat in OPS after working on their most recent case. Nell had been quiet for a few minutes until Eric had noticed. But he hadn't said anything until a few minutes later. "Hey Rockstar. Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine," Nell said in a small voice.

"Are you sure? You look kinda down. Something up?" the blonde tech asked.

Nell looked down at her lap and nodded. "It's just…" she began. But her voice trailed off.

"Nell. Is there something you want to say?"

Then the sparkles began to show up on her face. But when Eric looked closer, he could see that they weren't sparkles, but tears. "Oh, Nell." He walked over to his partner put a hand on her shoulder.

Nell stood up to give him a hug as she began to cry even harder. Her tears began to soak the front of his shirt.

"Shhhh. It's okay, Nell. It's okay."

After about 10 minutes of crying, soothing, and calming her down; Eric finally said, "Nell, what's wrong?"

Sniffling, she replied, "Hetty's not coming back, is she?"

"I don't know. But you know that we're doing the best we can to find her," he answered.

"But they're gone. Callen, Sam, Kensi, Deeks. They all resigned and went to go find her. And we're stuck with Hunter."

"I know. And I know they haven't been answering their phones. But we've got to think positive."

"You don't think she's gone, do you? I mean Hetty. Like, she's not dead yet?" the redhead asked in a small voice.

"No. I don't. And I know you don't either. So don't be saying it," Eric said.

Nell hugged Eric even tighter. Then she looked up at him.

Eric looked down and locked his eyes on hers. Subconsciously, he leant down slightly and kissed her lips. To his surprise, Nell kissed back.

When she pulled away, Nell said, "Thanks Eric." She smiled shyly at her partner.

"No problem, Rockstar," Eric said. He grinned and kissed her again.
