Author's Note: This one-shot came to me after briefly watching the final movie in the Harry Potter series, haven't seen any of them, I'm much more of a book girl personally. This takes off from where Luna sits down next to Neville after the final battle. P.S. Worst epilogue ever in that movie – and book. Ugh. I hate the Weasleys.

Rememballs and Radishes

His whole body ached. Mud and snake's blood was caked to his clothing and skin. All that was left in his possession was his ten-inch oak with a unicorn heartstring core wand.

Neville Longbottom didn't even know where his Rememball was.

Everyone around him in the Great Hall was either wounded, or caring for the broken. Amongst the chaos, he spotted three worn out teenagers hugging tightly as if no one else was around.

"It's rare to see such an intimate sight isn't it?"

Neville saw a flash of yellow blonde hair as the place next to him was filled.

"It feels strange seeing something so pure here Luna, I mean, I know we're friends with them, but being that close – it's almost like they're untouchable." He swivelled slightly to the left to face the quirky beauty.

"Harry, Hermione and Ron may be untouchable as a group you can see that by the flutter of warped whisplooshes around them; but that doesn't mean others can't reach that level."

Neville felt his heart skip a beat as Luna's tiny hand slid over his arm and made its way into his large hand.

"Luna I-" he started, he knew his palms were sweating, tainting her delicate body.

"Neville, were you afraid when you destroyed a part of Voldemort's soul?" it was a question so simple, sounding so innocent. Neville started at Luna, noticing only then how pretty her clear blue eyes were and how obscure her radish earrings made her look. She was a Goddess, wise and whimsical.

"Ye-yes, but I killed the snake, I didn't know it was a piece of You-Know-Who's soul!" he was now completely facing her on the staircase, being a few feet taller than her only empathized how precious she seemed to him.

"Yes I suppose it was for the best, now that Voldemort is gone, everyone can focus on things that are still scary but better scary things…"

"What do you mean Luna?" his voice was laced with exhaustion as the Gryffindor was sure he tasted blood between his teeth.

"I mean don't be scared to love." As if it were the most natural thing in the world, Luna Lovegood leant forward and kissed him sweetly. She tasted like cinnamon and smelt like apples – the perfect combination. Neville's body reacted naturally, slipping his perspiring hands from her grasp and encompassing her narrow waist. It took a moment for his to gather his thoughts and realise where they were, unsure of what to do next, he pulled away. The Ravenclaw's expression was a picture of happiness.

"Now that we're done that, will you help me find some Blood Replenishing Potions? I think the Nargles hide them and as I would like to kiss you again, will you come with me?"

Blinking a few times, just to make sure it was Luna Lovegood, the young girl who he had been pining after for a few months now, that was asking him to follow her with promises of a rendezvous.

"Neville?"

"Uh, yeah, sure Luna, I'll come with you!" kicking himself mentally for sounding so enthusiastic.

"Wonderful, off we go…"

Neville followed the blonde girl out of the Great Hall, pocketing his wand and a smile on his face.

He couldn't wait to tell his Gran about this.

The end.
