Has character death. Alternate ending from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.

As Ash gave Mew his Aura, his form was flickering. He growled in pain. "Guys, get out of here!" Ash yelled, a mixture of worry and concern.

"No way Ash!" Kidd yelled, watching Ash giving life to Mew and the tree.

"Go!" Ash cried, twitching as his form flickered again.

Lucario's form was more solid than Ash's, and the flow of aura from two sources over powered Mew and the tree. A large bubble formed and an explosive field of energy knocked Ash and Lucario back. While Lucario skidded back, Ash hit the ground and rolled. He landed on his side, shaking and gasping loudly.

"Pi pi pi!" Pikachu ran to Ash's side, butting heads against his cheek.

Lucario rushed over, his ears flattened. "Ash.." He said softly, looking at the boy.

"Mew, mew. Meew." Mew said, zipping around Ash.

"I know, Mew." Lucario said, catching Kidd's attention.

"What did it say?" Kidd asked, before looking at Ash when he coughed.

"We.. we did, huh Lucario?" Ash asked with a smile, looking at the bipedal coyote.

"We did." A smile finding it's way to onto the coyote's face.

Kidd looked at Mew and Lucario as Ash's form flickered again, "isn't there something that can be done to help him?"

"Mew, mew. Mew, meeew, mew.." Mew said.

"Mew says that there is one way, but I can not do it alone. My aura is too drained for it to happen." Lucario said. "My aura must be used to save Ash, but I am drained. I need assistance."

Pikachu nuzzled against Ash before stepping forwards. "Pika. Pikachu."

Lucario nodded. "We must hurry."

Pikachu nodded. "Pika."

Pikachu put a tiny paw on Ash's shoulder. Lucario held out his paws, one on Ash's cheek and the other for Pikachu to hold. The two closed their eyes and two large sphere's formed, both eclipsing Ash. The flickered form of Ash stopped as the sphere's got bright before they died down. Ash still lay there, looking mostly the same, except his hat was laying a few feet away and he had yellow streaks in his hair. And there was a blue and black egg laying beside him.

"Wow.." Kidd pulled her arms from her eyes and shook Ash's shoulder gently. "Ash, wake up."

Ash slowly opened his eyes. "Hmm? Kidd?" He sat up. "What happened?" He looked around. "Where's Lucario and Pikachu?" When Kidd shook her head, Ash started crying, throwing his arms around her in sadness.

Mew flew over with Ash's hat in it's paws and dropped it on the egg. When Ash stopped crying, he saw his hat on the egg. "What's that?" He pulled his hat from the egg and put it back on, looking at the egg. "Lucario.."

Ash and Kidd walked out of the tree, Ash holding the egg close to his chest.

"Ash?" The teen looked up to see Brock and the others looking at him.

"Hey guys." Ash said softly.

"Where's Lucario and Pikachu?" Mas asked

"And what the egg for?" May followed his question.

"They.. had somewhere else to be." Kidd answered.

Ash cradled the egg. "We'll see them again. Someday."
