I remember how it all began. The lab, the tests... the pain. Then came the day I was able to escape. I fled to the city, trying in vain to reconnect with other survivors. All I was met with was scorn and hate, bullets flying towards me in fear and horror. I know why they stay away, I'm an abomination but I still crave contact, not flesh like those things that stumble around outside. So here I hide in this city, following this next group of survivors, not knowing if I should take the chance or not. These survivors aren't like the others though, they work together, having just brought down one of the hulking ones, trapping it beneath rubble. They now shelter on a roof. As a helicopter flies by, yelling at them orders, I realize the beast they downed has risen again, climbing the building to get to them once more!
Should I do something? If I try to help they might shoot me like all the others. But if I don't they die and I might be stuck here alone for God knows how long. Oh Damnit! That thing's now has them trapped, I gotta get over there. I pray they don't attack when I show I can help. As I ready my legs, I remember what I am cursed with. I suffer the Deathstrain, a twisted version of the very thing that caused this mess, made by the very people who suffer it. As I fly through the air, more memories of that cursed lab come back to me and I remember my given name, DEathStrain first EmeRgene Test subject 1, otherwise known as...
