Baby Talk
It was one of those lazy Sunday afternoons where both twins, especially Yukio, could take a breather from school work. The room they shared held a quiet but calm atmosphere while the golden rays that poured in through the window brought light and warmth.
"Hey, Yukio..." Rin's head rested on the bulky teen's shoulder as his thin fingers combed through the brunette's hair.
"Yes Nii-san?" The brunette's eyes never left from the book in front of him.
"—What do you think about babies."
At this Yukio paused his reading, cocking an eyebrow toward the raven. "...Babies?"
"Yeah, babies."
"Well, they do take a lot of money and taking care of..."
"And?"
"Constant feeding, changing, a lot of watching over, and time–.
"Yeah-Yeah," Rin fluttered his hand in the air, he couldn't help but roll his eyes at Yukio's obviousness. "But those are the basics," the raven propped himself on his right elbow to get a good look at the brunette. "I'm talking about the real stuff." His voice in all seriousness.
Yukio closed his book and put it aside and leaned on his left shoulder to do the same. Scanning Rin in a questionable manner for the sudden sincereness, "Rin what's this all about?"
"N-Nothing!" Pale cheeks sprang pink. "I'm just... curious." Rin huffed and pushed on, "Just answer me, honestly."
"Alright Nii-san," Seeing as there was no way out of this. "Babies, even though they take a lot of effort and time they do bring many changes, not only in one's life but the family's as well ."
"Like?"
"Bringing joy and happiness for one." Yukio went on, completely oblivious to the small smile perched on Rin's mouth. "It makes a man want to work even harder and do better things for his child or children now that he has another life to take care of and look after. Even if a baby is conceived in an untimely manner, as long as both parents are willing give their all, that's all that matters, because in the end it will be worth it to see their child happy.
Yukio paused to cover his mouth letting out a hearty yawn with tears springing at the brim around the bottom lids.
"Excuse me, does that answer your question Nii-san?"
"Yup! More than enough." Rin smiled warmly, unconsciously placing a hand on the small curve of his belly. A sudden yawn caught him surprise.
"Good." Yukio, placed a soft kiss on the raven's forehead. "I think it's time for a nap." He pulled Rin into a warm embrace as sleep took over.
"...yeah." Rin grinned as he took in the brunette's scent as his vision fluttered into silence. 'I'll just tell him later, right now is sleep time.' And with that both were swept into quiet slumber.
