The Travellers Rhyme- a Snow White Parody

Once upon a time

In a far off kingdom that was grown on thyme

Lived a young girl full of might

That went by the name of Snow White

Now Snow White had an evil mother

That treated her like a piece of blubber

This mother of hers though quite cruel

Owned a magic swimming pool

And every day from dawn to dusk

She would whisper with a husk

'Dear pool of my please do call

Who is the fairest of them all?'

And every day the pool would answer

'You my queen are the fairer then the folk dancer!'

But one dark day she ask the pool

'Am I still the fairest within my rule'

This time the pool did reply

'Unfortunately this time you luck's run dry

For there is one that light shines bright

That young girl is Snow White'

The Queen when heard went in a rage

It was the biggest in this age

She said to herself with a hoot

'I'll just poison that little coot

At the concert this very day'

So she took some poison from the bay

The queen then who was very mean

Put it in some garden beans

So at the concert when the time was right

She poison poor old Snow White

With a thump and a roar

The girl fell to the floor

The queen yelped with delight

And ran away in a flight

But there was one who witnessed this passing

It was the fair Prince Charming

'Oh me oh my' he said quite clear

'I must save this poor dear'

So the prince left off to save

The princess, for he was very brave

He journeyed far and near and near and far

A chanced upon a cable car

So up he went like a mouse

And found himself at a friendly house

The prince knocked three times at the door

And who should appear but the queen, that boar

The Queen quite scared ran for her cloak

Then disappeared in a puff of smoke

The prince entered the house his mouth ajar

And found to his surprise, behind some bars

To small children Hansel and Gretel by name

The prince saved them from their shame

He tried to leave them but they just cried

Take us with you, please be our guide

So the prince with a heart so blessed

Took Hansel and Gretel on his quest

For many nights and days these Travellers travelled

All their hope that had unravelled

When one cloudless day they found

A castle half hidden underground

The prince and his companions ran inside

Looking for the cure they were hoping hadn't died

In the basement brass double doors loomed

They knew it was there so they entered the gloom

With a heavy heart they saw

A guardian dragon at the door

The dragon asked them one simple question

What is my obsession?

They thought and they thought

And then Gretel said with a snort

I know the answer my friend and I don't cheat

Your obsession is that you like to eat

The dragon replied looking wrecked

That is correct

The giant beast stepped aside

As the Travellers took their prize

And scooted out of there, which was very wise

They made it back to where snow white lay

And gave her the cure as fast as day

As Snow White opened her eyes

The evil queen rushed in, swelled to twice her size

She seized a sword and with a hit

Got pushed into a earthquake pit

And as clever little Hansel said

At least I didn't chop off her head

And so as you guessed

The prince and snow white where married with zest

And so this is where our stories end

With a little twist and a bend
