He was pacing across the large hall, pulling at his jacket and shirt and the unfamiliar clothes he was in. (Gods he needed a drink!) But this was what she had wanted, and he couldn't say no to her, not when she looked at him like that—

"Killian?"

He turned at the sound of Snow's voice, surprised to see the princess here. He had expected the prince, if anyone, to come across him. To try to stop him from pacing and no doubt wearing the floor down with his movements. Killian's smile, he knew, looked a bit forced as he nodded in greeting in Snow's direction.

She just smiled. She knew he was nervous—Charming had admitted to behaving the same way—but she also knew he had no reason to be. Snow approached him, then, and shook her head. It had taken her a bit of time to come around to the pirate, to the idea of him with her daughter. But when she'd seen how happy Emma was in his company, how truly joyful they both were, how much better and whole they were when with each other, all of her doubts went away. And she came to accept him, truly, as a part of the family. "There's true love between you, Killian. Trust me. Her mind is made up, and there will be no changing it. She's too stubborn for that," finished Snow, with a teasing tone at the end.

And Killian smiled, nodding, feeling a bit of his heart lighten at the assurance from Snow. This was right. This was true. He'd known it for awhile, but the doubts crept up every once in a while, unable to be silenced—until someone like Snow came along.

"Now let's go inside. The guests will be waiting and ready for this wedding."

The doors to the other hall opened, and Killian accompanied Snow to her seat, before taking his place near the front… only waiting for the orchestra to start up for Emma…
