She'd thought she did everything right. Not in a "You're just like your sister" kind of way, but in a "I love you, realize it already" kind of way. But, the ironic part of it all was that he never did. So she did all she could; she'd talk to him a little more than everyone else, and she's smile a little brighter when he came around. She'd place her head on his shoulder and stand a bit closer than the music producers liked when they sang; and when they sang she would look at him with such hope and love and fear and just a tad bit more love and he would smile and she'd giggle hoping, knowing he felt the same. In the end he never showed such a thing.
And maybe she was too stuck on dreaming and hoping and wishing. She felt like Cat dreaming so much but it in fact was her only hope so if she had to dream upon a star she would. She thought he got it the more he came over. The more they drank cocoa and discussed problems and issues, but almost every time he would hug her tightly say,
"I love you"
and she'd feel her cheeks get warmer and say it back.
But she knew and he was only saying it as a friend. She was saying it as oh so much more.
So as he got more attractive, and more attractive he got, she stayed anyway. It was no fun chasing someone who wouldn't put up the fight to chase you. He was sweet and nice and even corny in his own way, which made it harder to keep her distance, but she just laughed with him and joked around and pretended to act as if nothing happened. And if you asked clueless Andre he'd tell you nothing did. So maybe in the long run Tori Vega hadn't done everything wrong, but she knew she hadn't done everything right.
