Syaoran wondered if he was ever to see Sakura again, in his never-ending journey with Kurogane, Fai, and Mokona, and one night, he had a dream about her. She was there with him in an emerald green field, and she was smiling, her green eyes alight with happiness just like they were when they were children. She was so happy, and so was he.

He had woken up, almost wanting to cry, the aching in his heart very familiar. He hadn't dreamed of her so vividly in the longest time, ever since he left Clow Country after all that had happened. With them having the same name, Sakura was always there with him, but never so happy, never so alive, never so close to him and they were closer than ever at that moment.

After his ancestors have gone, all that were left was Sakura and himself in the names that they had bestowed them. All Syaoran wanted was to find what was looking for in his journey and go home to Sakura, his princess. All Syaoran he wanted was to go back to the dream he had that night, back to sitting beside Sakura, smelling the fresh scent of cherry blossoms and seeing the warmth in her beautiful emerald eyes.

In his journey, he felt a familiar longing for his beloved, wanting to go back and see her again, wondering why he couldn't have taken her with him, just like before. What had been before they visited Tokyo, before Infinity, before Celes Nihon, and before the Dream World, and certainly before everything fell apart as the pieces were put together for the final time, what was left of their bond. She was innocent and pure and didn't deserve to feel any pain from his other half's betrayal. Even in the face of death, she would still have the light in her eyes that would always stay alit when she looked at him, as if the light would stay beautiful forever, just like she would.

Syaoran would have given anything to be where she was, to be next to her, and to hold her when she needed support from his embrace, but it would have been selfish of him. He wouldn't allow himself the peace of her presence and her existence until he had done something, anything, to make up for what he'd done in the long gone past.

One day, after the journey was over, he would see her again and she'd smile. One day, there was the possibility, the one chance that they would meet again.
