Summary: AU to the end of Deatly Hallow's with a slashy twist.
Harry looked around King's Cross station, he knew had to go back to his friends, but there must be something he could do. The baby was still crying and Harry couldn't stand it anymore, he went over and picked the child up. It almost nearly calmed down and quieted to sniffles.
He was aware of Dumbledore standing behind him and watching Harry handle the baby. Harry wasn't mad, well, he was, but not as angry as before. He understood why the Headmaster had done what he had done, he was just pissed that Dumbledore didn't sit Harry down and explained what he needed to do.
Harry rubbed the back of Tom's -the child- back while he paced back and forth with a conflicted expression. Harry was going back, but didn't Dumbledore say that he could go back at any time? If so, how far back should Harry go? The night Tommy-boy attacked his parents? When he got his Hogwart's letter? Third year? The end of Fifth and save Sirius from the Veil? Harry didn't know.
Or….
He could go back before Tom became Voldemort, maybe when he was still a child or even during his early school years. Harry let his mind race, it would pick the best option for him, he just needed to let it sort it's self out. Harry sat down next to Dumbledore on a bench with a sigh, he knew what he had to do, but he couldn't leave all of his friends behind. If he went that far back who even knew what would happen in the future.
His friends could not get born or at the wrong times, or they would be born but not the same Ron or Hermione he knew now. But if he didn't then they were going to die and Harry didn't want that, not at all.
"I'll miss everyone." Harry said softly as a train slowly appeared out of the fog. "I hope I know what I'm doing, which I doubt."
"You will do fine, Hadrian" Dunbledore said as an arm wrapped around Harry's shoulder and Harry jerked in surprise at the use of his full first name. "I have faith in you, so you should to."
"I know, but so many things could and can go wrong if I screw up." Harry said hunching his shoulders. "I don't want to disappoint you, Headmaster."
"Nothing you do will ever make me disappointed in you, Hadrian." Albus said as he tilted the younger male's face back up. "As long as you do what's right, for you and no one else, then nothing will ever make me feel that way."
Harry was silent for a while before he stood up and both he and Albus walked to the train's steps. Harry looked at the train and then up at Albus and back again at the train. Harry used a free hand and tugged on the brightly colored robes, Albus leaned down and was surprised by a firm kiss from the teenager.
"Hadrian?" Albus asked confused as Harry stepped onto the train. Harry only smiled as the door shut between them. "Hadrian?"
Harry only gently smiled through the glass window as the train started and left the foggy station. He had a plan, if it was going to work then Albus didn't need to know what Harry was going to risk. Albus was wanted to call the boy back, ask him why he kissed him when he felt something strange, like he was fading. Like he was waking up, but Albus knew he was dead; he couldn't wake back up.
Albus was nearly gone when he gasped. Harry didn't just go home, he went back. Back before all of this began, Harry was saving everyone. Albus knew he wasn't going to remember this, only the new time-line, but he hoped -oh, how he hoped- that Hadrian was going to be okay.
Albus took a deep breath and faded away with the rest of the station.
