Wendy is spending her turn at the counter in her usual way: slacking off and reading a magazine. The shack is, oddly enough, pretty much tourist-barren with the only other people there being Soos and Dipper and Mabel.
Soos is cleaning the floor, and the twins were using, in Dipper's case, or playing, in Mabel's case, with their christmas "gifts": a book about dimensions and a staff-sword hybrid. So as it can be seen, the day has been pure boredom for the redheaded teenager.
The girl's deadpan expression doesn't change once she's approached by her boss, Stan Pines, who is holding an envelope. Remembering it is pay day, the teenager still doesn't change expressions, knowing that her boss is...a cheapskate, to say the least.
Stan hands the envelope to Wendy and she opens it, taking out at least 50 dollars from it and finding one note as well. The note read "for valued employee, Wendy Corduroy," much to the shock of the teenager.
Wendy turns to see Stan with a happy look on her face and she leans closer to his ear.
"Thanks, Stan." she whispers.
Shortly after saying that, Wendy hugs the man almost immediately, shocking the twins and Soos. What manages to get them more shocked is that Stan returns the hug not long after, which also manages to surprise the teenager for a moment before she pats the man's back.
