A/N: Alright, so it's my first one shot. Very short. Not too sure how this will turn out, but might as well, right? :)

His eyes.
His eyes were like dazzling sapphires, shining in their glory, framed by long, luxurious lashes. Those eyes were so beautiful that they could get you to do anything that they wanted you to. They worked every time.
Until that fateful December day. When he entered that day, he was a mere child, innocent in every way. When he left, he was more mature than those twice his age.
That day, he lost two things. The first, his childish innocence that allowed him to see the good in everyone. The second was more precious.
That day, he lost a single sapphire.
In its place sat an amethyst.
The amethyst was a beauty too, in its own way.
Although it lacked the same luster as the previous sapphire, it also held something that the sapphire did not.
Power. Revenge. Determination.
While the sapphire held innocence, happiness, and purity, the amethyst held darkness and evil. However, this evil was like no other. It was a lovely evil, one that could persuade you to give up your soul without a second thought.
Together, the sapphire and amethyst were a dangerous combination.
As stunning as they were, they could kill a lesser man.
However, he was not weak. He was strong, and wielded their power, using them to control the pawns around him. He used them to his advantage, allowing him to stay the winner of every game he played.
The sapphire and the amethyst.
Light and dark.
Good and evil.
One will always prevail. Always.
But the winner does not necessarily have to be the sapphire. Sometimes, the amethyst can win, too.
