Dana Scully;
Her lonely days at home, her faith, her non-belief, always keep her down. She is broken, but yet remains strong. She has so much to prove for herself, and to others, her confidence in her work is constant, but somehow she is stuck in a certain way of thinking. All those day she looks forward to proving Mulder wrong, testing her theories towards cases, and testing herself, in resisting to molders means. Deep down she knows she loves him, but hides it away from not only everyone else, but herself, by making those feelings in her professional work simply dissolve.
She was brought to the X-Files to attest Mulder incorrect, and use her scientific analysis to certify his findings. Little did she know, many of it was existent. Through all sorts of adventures and implausible findings, she always stood up for him in times of desperate and frantic help.
There are a lot of things that she doesn't know about herself, she's always in doubt about looking into her past, or looking too far into the future. Her strong and stable outer shell covers all the hurt she has experienced, although she and her partner are two different souls, they have many things in common. She cannot resist mulder's firm grasp on her and her life, his charm, humour and friendship draw her in like prey, to his rebellious nature.
Her belief in god powers the religious cases she comes across, in which she gets deeply involved, not just her profession opinions, but her emotional attachment.
In a sense, she has belief in a supernatural theory, that in which ironically, Mulder does not follow.
But in all of this confusion, she insists to continue her work on the x-files, basing her life on helping people and uncovering the paranormal secrets the world has to offer, and of course, along side Mulder, in many years to come.
