This is such a distraction to have to read at the beginning of a lovely fanfiction. I apologize, but I don't want to get sued. I don't own Harry Potter.
"Remus!" the purple haired yelled, but her husband didn't hear. He was too busy dueling Antonin Dolohov to see his wife running towards him. Nymphadora Tonks-Lupin watched in horror as her husband's wand twirled, as did his adversaries.
She pushed and shoved through all the fighters, Death Eaters and Hogwarts fighters alike. She was oblivious to the battle ensuing around her; all that mattered was reaching Remus before it was too late.
She continued pushing towards them, ducking flying spells and avoiding being hit by curses. The haze of spells shimmered around her, and her heart pounded in her ears. Just as she stopped near her husband, there was a brilliant flash of green, and Remus Lupin fell like a marionette with his strings cut.
Tonks felt her heart break. She turned towards Dolohov and raised her wand.
"Impedimenta!" The Death Eater stumbled backwards, into the path of the Killing Curse shot by Alecto Carrow. He fell, and the Carrow turned towards her, but she wasn't paying attention.
"Remus," she whispered, tears welling in her eyes. Nymphadora Tonks never cried. She took his hand but never let one tear fell. Nymphadora Tonks never cried.
She vaguely heard a roar, and when she looked up, she saw Alecto pointing her wand at her.
"Avada Kedavra!" a flash of green light, and Nymphadora Tonks fell, still holding hands with her husband.
There was a small tear in her eye. But Nymphadora Tonks never cried.
