I do not own Bleach. If I did Momo and Toshirou would have way more scenes together.
The first time she heard of Earth, Hinamori was neither worried nor confused.
She was spellbound.
Rangiku would always come into 5th division after a trip to the ryoka's world and gush about all the technology and artificial items they lived with. She ranted on for an especially long time about these bizarre objects humans called "juice boxes".
"It was so weird! I mean, you had to rip off this plastic tube thingy and stick it in this box filled with liquid. And to drink you must suck through the plastic tube!"
It was an understatement to say Momo was shocked. In fact, this innocent death god's mind was crammed with colorful visions of stores filled with strange clothes to large boxes displaying scenes of anything and everything.
No longer were visions of her traitorous captain haunting her dreams, but the possibilities and what-ifs of an alien world. Her friends would always sigh with an exasperated smile on their lips whenever they experienced one of Momo's "Trip to Earth" expressions.
They called it "Trip to Earth" because of exactly what it meant. The brunette would begin to tune out of the current conversation and a misty look would sheen over cinnamon orbs, a clear sign she wasn't paying attention. Every time this occurred her fellow shinigami figured out that she was imagining she were somewhere else. Of course, that somewhere was always Earth.
Whenever she confided in her best friend, also known as the youngest captain in the 13 court guards, he would always endeavor to dampen her spirits and attempt to bring her head down from the clouds.
"It's nothing to get excited about. There enough of factories to fill all of Rukongai and it creates this effect called "pollution". The people are rude and, sometimes, very dangerous. People do whatever they like without any thought or regrets."
Momo would always frown upon this and remind Toshirou of how hazardous Soul Society is with all the hollows running around. Compare them to a few bad apples and the difference is colossal.
Hitsugaya would just glare at her and tell her to leave so he could finish his and his lazy lieutenant's paperwork.
This, to Hinamori, was proof in itself that the human world was not as bad as Toshirou made it out to be.
So, when a job came up to deliver a package to one of the ryoka, Hinamori was the first to accept the mission, taking it as a sign from above.
On the day she was to leave Soul Society, tenth's squad captain was, apparently, waiting in front of the portal to Ichigo's world. When she asked him what he was waiting for all she received was a stubborn frown and a brisk explanation of how she'll kill herself if she were to go alone. This, he went on, would negatively affect Soul Society, being as they are still three captains short.
The petite lieutenant just blinked and stared at her childhood friend until he got fed up with the awkward silence and turned to guide the way into the human world.
Hinamori just giggled softly at the light pink that crept up her childhood friend's neck onto his cheeks. Running to catch up, she took his left hand with both of her small one's and gave him a grateful peck on the cheek.
If Earth sounded fun before, it sounded even better now that she was going to experience it with her, now crimson faced, best friend.
And she told him just that.
This oneshot didn't have much inspiration to give it that extra boost. sorry! It usually depends on the response I receive from reviewers for my other stories.
Please Review! It means a lot to me.
