Myka sat back in her seat, tears in her eyes. Pete said nothing, just drove on. suddenly Myka looked up. "Stop. stop!" she yelled. she flew out of the car and raced back down the street. "Helena!" she cried, just as the other woman was turning to go back inside. She turned and gasped as Myka flew up to her.
"Dont make me leave. Not alone. Please come with me. Please." She whispered brokenly. She had to try. She had to know if she ever had a chance. Helena creased her forehead.
"Myka." she murmured. "I cant. I love Nate. I have to stay with him." she said, looking down. Tears began running down her cheeks. "Im sorry. Before, if I had never met him, met Adelade, I might have…" she trailed off. Myka stepped back. "I-im sorry." she murmured before, turning and racing away. When she reached the car, Pete was waiting. He caught her in his arms and held her while she sobbed.
Helena sighed and turned, walking back towards the house. Suddenly Nate stepped out from behind the house. She gasped.
"You saw?" she asked. He nodded.
"You love her." he murmured. She gasped again.
"what? No! I love you!" she cried, stepping towards him. He smiled sadly.
"Emily, no, Helena. You know that's not true. I know you, I can see it in your eyes. you love Myka." he said. "Its alright. go after her." he urged her.
"Nate, I.." she didnt know what to say, or how to say it. He sighed.
"i want you to be happy Helena. I do love you, enough to let you go." he stepped away from her. "Go. be happy." he said. She looked down, sniffling.
"May i say goodbye to Adelade?" she asked.
"Of course." he murmured.
Myka stood staring out the window at their gate. She was heart broken.
"Myka." a voice behind her startled her out of her daze. She spun around to see Helena standing in front of her.
"Helena." she gasped. Helena smiled, opening her arms. Myka flung herself into them. Helena held her close.
"I'm coming home." she whispered.
