a/n: Pointless SuFin for Sweden's birthday today, June 6. I don't know if fireflies actually live in that part of the world at this time of year, but I really don't care. This is the first SuFin I've ever written, so if I messed up horribly, please inform me! If I didn't mess up horribly, I'd appreciate knowing that, too! Hetalia does not belong to me~
"Look, Sve, the fireflies are out!" Finland called, chasing after one of the flickering points of light with a jar. "I've got this one—ack!" Hanatamago had been in just the wrong place at just the wrong time (as was her special talent) and Finland had tripped and fallen down. Sweden was at his side in an instant, checking him for injuries.
"Y' okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine, Sve." Finland held up the jar in triumph. "I got one!"
Sweden's permascowl softened into what might be called a smile. "Tha's great, F'n."
Hanatamago barked and wagged her tail, as if to say, "Hey, I'm cute too, right? Pay attention to me!" Obedient to her whims, Seden scratched her head.
Finland smiled at the sight of his stoic husband being so…cute. "Hey, let's go inside," he suggested. "It's getting colder out here and there's cake inside."
"Y' made cake?" Sweden stood up, carrying Hanatamago in one hand and offering the other to his wife.
Finland took it and was pulled to his feet. "Yeah, I did. It's your birthday, after all."
Sweden blushed and became even more tongue-tied than usual. "Y' didn' have t' do tha'," he mumbled eventually.
"I wanted to." Finland tugged gently on his husband's hand and they started walking back up the hill to the warm lights of their house.
"Th'nk y'," Sweden said as they reached the back door.
"It's no problem." Finland stood on his tiptoes to press a kiss to Sweden's cheek. "Happy birthday, Sve."
