Diary of a Wandering Child

Chapter 1

June 24, 1871

Dear Diary,

10 minutes until I go on. Madame Giry has just left my dressing room. She told me not to worry, which in fact made me more nervous and frightened. Someone else came and visited me before Madame Giry. Erik came and saw me. I heard the usual singing behind my mirror. The soft whispers of,

"Christine, Christine..."

I slowly walked up to the mirror and pushed back the door. I saw Erik dressed in a different yet sexy manner. He handed me a bouquet of deep red roses, tied up with a dark, meaningful, black ribbon. He took my hand and kissed my forehead sweetly and tenderly. I will never forget the look he gave me, a look that both threatened and adored. He kissed my hand and disappeared into the darkness. All I remember after that was I fell on the ground and cried because I wish our love didn't have to be so secretive. I wished that people would accept us, but I knew they wouldn't for who he was. A monster. A beautiful creature of darkness and passion.

They are now calling me forth... 5 minutes until I go on and perform the phantom's opera. I just hope everything ends up like it is supposed to...
