Disclaimer: I don't own anything to do with the Marvel Series, Thor or Captain America.

A/N: This is a stand alone one shot but if you've read my other Steve/Darcy story, 'All You Have Going For' I'm giving you the liberty to think of this as a prequel to that story.

Leaning against the bar his eyes swept over the party that seemed to be in full swing if you count the playboy philanthropist who was clearly piss drunk, doing a weird humping dance around a flustered looking Pepper Potts.

He was lost deep in his thoughts when someone bumped his arm with their shoulder. Looking down to his right he found a mop of dark brown curls.

"Good evening Miss Lewis" tipping his head to one side.

"Ugh.." her adorable face scrunched up as she sipped from her glass of wine. "How many times have I told you, Capsicle, to call me Darcy" she said with a pout

"Too many to count, Darcy." he smiled down at her. "But isn't it unfair that you get to nickname me with different names which vary quite a lot" raising his brow at her.

"Those are not just nicknames, Cap-merica" she looked up at him seriously. "Those are names to show my love.. terms of endearment if you have it" giving him a dazzling smile. "Now show me the gentleman that you are and ask me to dance" nodding off to dance floor, where a few people who where now dancing to a seeminly slow song.

"I don't know how to dance" that certain line made him feel a bit melancholic, remembering a time in his past life where he said those same words. He looked down at his glass of scotch, still until now he couldn't get drunk. No matter what Tony and Thor push down his throat, Midgardian or Asgardian nothing works.

"Well you're in luck!" she less than shouted at him. Breaking him from his line of thought. He looked back up at her, her bright smile dazzling him. Her red full lips popping out from her smooth fair skin.

"I am just what the doctor ordered.. I am the perfect partner for you!"

And in that moment something just clicked in his brain. He didn't know what but it felt right. He felt that he somehow he belonged again in the world, even if he was far from his known era.

"Come on I told the band already to play something slow for us" tugging on his hand, steering them to the middle of the dance floor. Placing her arms around his chest, she started them off with a rocking motion. "And don't you dare step on my toes, Mister" however smiling up at him just to show she was just joking.

This whole moment is giving him a sense of a deja vu but not quite a deja vu more of a proper ending to 'past' life.

Because right now he didn't have to find a right partner, because just like what the woman in his arms mentioned a few minutes ago.. He just found his Perfect Partner.

A/N: This is but a one shot, I don't have plans in making it a multi-chapter. But even so please do fave, follow and review it! I would love to hear from my readers!
