This idea stemmed off something I was reading.

Polished gold shone in the glinting sunlight, a beautiful diamond sitting on the center of the ring. It glinted and glimmered and it was carefully polished, before being placed in a soft, cushion, held slightly upright. The cushion was placed in a small box, it's lid closing gently over it.

Toan smiled at the small box, tucking it into his pocket. He couldn't hide the smile forming on his face, nor could he hide the slight skip in his step. He walked towards a single palm tree, its shade covering Xiao, who was sleeping under its shade.

"Hey Xiao." Toan said, smiling as he sat next to her. She let out a lazy mew, her ears twitching.

"Hiya Master." She sat up, yawning, rubbing at her eyes. Toan smiled at her, ruffling her hair. She giggled, fixing her hair. She sat up, resting herself against the palm tree. "Xiao wanted to talk about something."

"What's up Xiao?" She sat still, looking at the sky for a few moments, a soft wind blowing her hair around, messing it up once again.

"Xiao..." She started, hesitating. "Xiao has found someone else.." Silence filled the space between them, the words sinking in. Xiao's ears drooped down, as

"Oh..."

"Xiao is sorry Master." Toan said nothing for a while, before he sighed, shaking his head.

"It's alright Xiao." He said, standing up. "I need to walk around for a bit."

"Will Master be alright?"

"I'll be alright." He said, walking away from Xiao. "I'll talk to you later, alright?"

"Alright..." Toan walked around the small lake in the village, looking at the small box as he took It out of his pocket. He opened the box, the glimmering diamond glinting. He got down on both knees, tears slowly falling down his face. He began to sob, his tears mixing with the lake water,
