In The Afterglow
Watching Laura sleep is fascinating.
Alex Summers looks down at his girlfriend, resting with her face buried into his chest. If he didn't feel the impossibly light air of her breaths against his skin, he'd be thinking she wasn't in the plane of the living anymore. He carefully reaches out one hand, so as not to disturb her, and lightly traces the skin from her hip to the base of her ribcage. He can feel no marks, no blemishes; he can't see any freckles, a fact that is purely a tribute to the healing factor that keeps her alive.
His hand continues to ghostly trace its way up her body, over her arm, before resting on her cheek.
"It's a good thing I'm not ticklish."
And there she goes, being a smartass.
"It's also a good thing I knew it was you, because otherwise it's a very bad idea to abruptly wake someone with assassin training out of their sleep."
He grins, the same grin he first gave her when they met, as she rolls onto her back, opening the brilliant green orbs that always hold so much emotion. Gently running the back of his hand over her chest, between her breasts, he leans down and kisses her softly, savouring the taste of her lips as she smiles into the kiss, sighing at the same time, like this is something that she's been waiting for her whole life.
He lavishes his time, lingering on each place that he kisses her, as if they're new to this, and listens to her soft moans as he traces her jaw, her cheek, her neck, with his mouth.
Their fingers entwine, and he can feel the strength in her hand, her body. He's always been in awe of that, how someone so small can be so strong, physically and mentally.
He revels in hearing every sound Laura can make, from her laughs, her sighs, her groans. There isn't a single sound that this girl can't make that he doesn't adore. The one sound that he loves the most, the absolute most, is the sound she makes when she's right there; it's just this soft sigh that surrounds his name, and it makes him feel so . . . . completely grateful that he has her.
When she says his name like that, he knows that it is a sound that most men live to hear. He can't say he's any different.
A/N: Wow. My first story in a REALLY REALLY REALLY long time. And it's so short! Oh well. Alex (Havok) and Laura (X23). My X-Men Evolution OTP. Reviews are appreciated.
Disclaimer: Yes, I own the show. And that's why I'm writing on FAN FICTION.
