The Interview
Disclaimer: I do not own Jareth or the Labyrinth.
Jareth was enjoying his visit aboveground. He was in a crowd of people watching someone juggling on a street corner in a small town. He was enjoying the show until a man tapped him on the shoulder and asked him if he could interview him. Jareth did not know what the man was talking about. He first asked the man what he was talking about. The man who was known as John Smith had a reputation for doing unusual interviews. John explained what an interview was. So with this knowledge Jareth agreed to be interviewed.
John started to ask Jareth some questions.
"Where are you from?"
"I come from the Labyrinth."
"What is a Labyrinth? Is it like a maze?"
"No it is not totally like a maze. This Labyrinth is much harder to solve. There are living creatures in the Labyrinth. I ought to know for I created the Labyrinth."
"Why did you create the Labyrinth?"
"Because I was bored, so I created this Labyrinth. What makes it different that things are not as they seem in this Labyrinth. So one has to be careful when going through this Labyrinth."
"People have gone through your Labyrinth?"
"Yes they have!"
Now John told Jareth that he was going to ask some more questions.
"Who are you?"
"I am King of the Labyrinth, and King of the Goblins!"
"Where is the Labyrinth located."
"In the underground, in another realm."
"I have never heard of it! You most keep busy looking after a Labyrinth and a bunch of Goblins. Do you enjoy your job?"
"It is not an easy job, and yes I do enjoy it."
"Why are you here today in my town?"
"I like to come and visit the aboveground occasionally. It gives me a break from my job."
"Is the aboveground, the earth?"
"Yes it is!"
"Sir you either have an overactive imagination, or you are crazy. There is no such thing as a Labyrinth country on this earth."
"You were not listening to well, were you. I said it was in another realm, nor on earth. It does exist. I am not crazy. Enough of these questions! I will have to remove the memory of this interview from your mind."
"You have no right to remove my memories of this interview. What right do you have to do this? It is wrong to do it."
"I have the right to do it, for if I do not do it. It could cause some problems for you and me. You memories of this interview is now gone. Sir would you go away, and leave me alone."
"I will go, and bother you no more stranger."
Jareth thought to himself why did I agree to this interview? The man who interviewed me was an idiot. He did not understand me, and did not realize how important I am. These humans are all the same. They are a bunch of fools who do not recognize greatness when they see it. I will be glad to get back to the Labyrinth. At least my goblins appreciate me very much!
