Hetalia does not belong to me.

Another idea I got that rainy day while listening, this time, to "Last Drop Falls."

So yes, this fic is loosely based on that song.

Enjoy please.

Raised together like siblings.

He never saw her like a sister.

Together everyday.

Played, fought, cried, laughed.

Together.

Their lives marched side by side.

Clones, one of each.

He realized, his feelings had changed.

No longer a friend.

But the person that gives meaning to his existence.

Always there.

Telling him what he needed to hear.

Unconsciously he thought, it would last forever.

She had always been in his life.

He had always been there for her.

He understood her like no one else ever had.

She had patience for him.

Patience not many gave him.

Teenager no longer, but a young adult.

Still together.

Building the same path.

Nothing changes.

They go out.

They study together.

They joke with each other.

He has to tell her.

Yet, he thought, it was not necessary.

She must feel the same.

But, one day, she confessed "I'm in love."

She did not name him.

His world stopped.

She named someone he did not know.

How could he not know this person?

He did what was correct.

What a good friend would do.

"You should confess."

Little did he know, he would regret uttering those words for many years to come.

Their lives continued to march the same path.

But then, the path separated.

No time for him.

Only time for her beloved one.

No longer a young adult.

Now grown.

She marries.

His world crumbles.

He attends the wedding.

He smiles.

He jokes.

He laughs.

He hides.

Internally, he cries.

He's sobbing.

He's lost.

He cannot understand.

He does not want to understand.

He drinks.

Drinks and forgets.

Drinks and regrets.

He starts worrying his family.

Do they know?

He knows not.

They want his old self.

The one who brought happiness.

Not the one who looked miserable.

Little he cares.

He finds temporal company.

Lasts for nothing.

They all tell him the same words.

"You are in love with someone else."

And forever he will.

He now is an observer.

He participates not.

His family increases.

But is no more his family.

He becomes an outsider.

His friends try to help him.

But to no avail.

He's too lost.

He no longer differentiates reality and fiction.

He imagines different scenarios.

He runs away from his life.

In dreams, he's happy.

He confessed.

She accepted him.

Happy, they live.

He wakes up and realizes.

Alone, he is.

He cries to sleep.

His life, no longer a healthy one.

He fails at his work.

All he can think of, is her.

Lonely he lives in misery.

She now is a mother.

He knows he should feel happy for her.

But the selfish inside him.

Is mad.

If he ever had a chance.

Or hope.

Gone now.

Because of this new life.

His life keeps getting worse.

People look at him.

They pity him.

He is no longer the charismatic man he once was.

He has become a pitiable man.

Someone with no path.

No control.

Wasting his life away.

Living that way.

Now, youth has abandoned him.

He keeps observing from afar.

Without being noticed.

All he does.

He still loves.

Regrets every single day.

Not revealing his true feelings before.

He blinks.

Time has defeated her.

He does not go to say goodbye.

He sits at a park.

He sees young ones.

Walking hand in hand.

And he wonders.

Why he didn't reveal his true feelings.

He looks at his hands.

Hands full of wrinkles.

It hits him.

He's old.

He's alone.

No friends.

No family.

Because he could never stop loving her.

His love became a disease.

He's now dying.

He regrets.

He regrets not being strong enough.

He regrets not being able to move on.

But he does not regret loving her.
