Hi everybody, Exotos135 with another SVTFOE one-shot! This time, I'm gonna try to make an anime parody with a mother-daughter pair, because parent-child interactions always have potential for being warm and fuzzy. And also because, with the addition of royalty, you can expect friction to pop up! None of that's here, though.

I'm talking about, of course, Moon and Star, the celestially-named "queen" and "princess" of Mewni. I put the air quotes there just in case you've seen the episode "Butterfly Trap" and would like to correct me. XD

So, let's get going with the story!

It was a normal day at the castle of Mewni, where the queen and princess of the kingdom, Moon and Star, were resting at the royal library, with Moon looking for some books about the history of Mewni while Star read her Magic Instruction Book, the book she used to train her magic back on Earth.

She flipped the pages of the book in boredom, until she came across a peculiar page that caught her attention. "What's this about the kamahamana?"

"It's pronounced, kama-hama-na," Moon explained as she turned to face her daughter. "It's an ancient spell-technique-ability-thing supposed to be utilized by princesses, or royalty in general, who prefer a physical approach rather than a magical one, or who don't have their wands to do the magic for them. It was invented by Solaria the Monster Carver."

Moon grabbed a book about the history of Solaria herself, and opened it and showed it to Star as she explained:

"During one of her many raids against monsters, Solaria's wand suddenly ran out of power in her fight against the leader of the monster mob she was attacking, and so, as he got ready to kill her, she moved her hands closer to her, pulled away, and said "ka-ma-ha-ma" as she charged her magic into a little yellow sphere of magical energy. Once she focused long enough to fully charge that orb, she aimed it at the monster and yelled "gic," unleashing that energy in a magical beam that defeated the monster leader in one swift strike. And maybe even killed him, but to be fair, it was the first time she was doing it."

Moon closed the book as she added, "She later changed the "gic" for "na" after she came to realize to "kama-hama-na" rolled off the tongue a little bit better."

"Mom, you said this... technique, or whatever, is supposed to be used by those who prefer a physical approach, or can't use their wands for whatever reason, right?" Star inquired, earning a nod from her mother. "If that's the case, why didn't I find this spell until now? Come to think of it, why didn't Glossaryck show me this chapter in the first place?"

"Well, the idea was that he would show you this spell after he trained you for a moment, but that clearly didn't go as planned," Moon took a deep breath. "I guess I should've put some more pressure on Glossaryck to teach you that technique, had I the foresight to see how the Toffee fiasco would go."

Star tilted her head. "Can you teach me that technique?"

Moon flinched and gave her daughter a surprised look, before she looked elsewhere as she thought about it, "Well, I still have some spare time with you before I return to my queenly duties..."

Star frowned and put the "pretty please" puppy-dog eyes, prompting Moon to fold her arms and state, "Fine, I'll teach you how to do the kama-hama-na."

The princess smiled excitedly, and a couple minutes later, Star and Moon walked down the hallways of the castle, with Star sporting a wife, excited smile that, admittedly, brought some happiness to Moon.

Soon enough, the ladies stopped in front of a lighting bolt mark in the wall. Moon looked to her left and right to see if there was somebody else around, and when she saw they were alone, she smiled and pushed the wall to the side, revealing a hidden passage. The queen gestured her daughter to follow her, and Star obliged, following Moon as they went down the passage.

Eventually, they arrived at a room with a large lighting bolt on the ground and the ceiling, with a collection of swords laying against the wall, and a little bed to the side, close to some armor and the mounted head of a monster.

"Welcome to Solaria's private training room, Star," Moon stated as Star looked at everything in amazement. "Every queen of Mewni has their very own personal training room built for them inside the castle, to practice their personal skills or techniques, or just rest and train before a big battle."

Star then walked to a picture of Solaria on the wall, and Moon walked to her side and put a hand on her shoulder as she stated:

"You will get your own room one day, Star, don't worry. But for now, let's practice the technique."

The princess shook off her shock and nodded with determination. Moon set up the stage, and put a mannequin a couple feet away from Star, who stood at the opposite end of the lighting bolt in the room.

"Okay, Star, remember what I said," Moon imitated the motions she spoke of. "Put both your hands together, charge your magical energy, chant "ka-ma-ha-ma" as you charge it, then aim it towards your opponent and unleash it while yelling "na" as loud as you can!"

Star nodded, and immediately got in position. She put her hands together, and pulled back a little as she stared at the manniquin with as much focus as possible, as she charged her magical energy into a little sphere and chanted:

"Ka... ma..."

The magic sphere grew a bit bigger, but with some electricity surging through it, and it started to fuzz and glitch as Star got ready to shoot it.

"Ha... ma..."

Star aimed the magic sphere at the manniquin, and yelled:

"Na!"

The magic sphere got ready to burst, but instead, it blew up right on Star's face, electricity surging the princess' face as she coughed up some dust and she hit the ground.

"What-" Star coughed some more as her mother went to her aid. "What happened?!"

"Hmm... maybe you focused too much on the target, without putting some focus on charging and maintaining the magic sphere?" Moon suggested as she helped her daughter get up.

"Oh, I needed to put my focus into the magic sphere and not into my enemy?" Star asked, blushing and smiling sheepishly once when her mother responded with a nod. "Oh, I thought that I needed to focus on my enemy, sorry."

"Well, at least you tried, and Solaria did make the same mistakes as you once she tried practicing the technique on her own," Moon shook her head. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up."

Star nodded, and the ladies left the room and headed to the wash right away.

Sometime later, at Star's bedroom...

Star was getting tucked to sleep by her mother as the moonlight shined through her window, and Star looked at the balcony with a concerned look.

"Star, is something on your mind?" Moon asked.

"...Mom, did you ever manage to master the "kama-hama-na" technique?" Star inquired, turning to her mother as she added, "Or was it something that only Solaria could ever do?"

Moon took a deep breath. "Well, whether I learned how to do it or not, a queen must always know what types of spells she could use in a given situation: We may have a million or spells at our disposal, but the most important thing to do is find which ones we'll definitely use, rather than try learn every single one of them."

Star narrowed her eyes in an "get on with it" tone, and Moon bluntly answered, "No, I never learned, but if you're worried you'll never learn it, then don't worry about it: I'm sure you'll be able to learn other, better spells."

Moon kissed her daughter on her forehead. "Goodnight, sweetie."

"Goodnight, Mom," Star answered with a little smile.

Moon got up and left Star's bedroom, and walked back to her and River's bedroom.

However, barely a couple hours passed before Moon started hearing some magic discharging from somewhere nearby, and from the sound of the discharge, the magic malfunctioned before blowing up. And of course, Moon had one assumption to make: Star was trying to do the kamahamana. So she got up, making sure not to wake up her husband in the process, and she walked all the way back to Star's bedroom before she went in to see what was going on.

Star was no longer on her bed, she was standing at the balcony, her hair blowing in the wind as she put her hands together and pulled them back, clearly trying to try the kamahamana once more. She also had some ash on her face, practically confirming she tried and failed already.

"Star," Moon stated, startling her daughter and making her break her concentration. "I told you to go to sleep, are you seriously still trying to do the kamahamana?"

"I'm sorry, Mom, but I just don't feel tired," Star answered, earning a raised eyebrow from Moon. "And besides, the thought of me never being able to do the kamahamana just... made it difficult for me to sleep, so I wanna see if I really can do it or not before I go to sleep. Once I do it, or once I decide to give up, I'll go to sleep, I swear!"

Moon took a deep breath, and smiled before stating, "Alright then."

Star flinched and watched as her mother walked to her bed, and sat on it before adding, "I'll watch over your attempts until you either succeed or fail. So go on, give it another shot. I believe in you, sweetie."

Now with her mother watching her, Star turned back towards the sky and resumed her attempt at the technique.

"Ka...ma..."

Star charged her magical energy into a sphere, like before, as Moon smiled and nodded, indicating Star was doing a decent job.

"Ha...ma..."

Star's magic sphere grew bigger, but it remained stable, with no signs of it destabilizing as Star aimed it at the sky and shouted:

"Na!"

The princess shot a pink magic energy beam right at the sky, which blew up into star-shaped fireworks as Star caught her breath and watched the fireworks in the sky, with Moon walking to her daughter's side soon afterwards.

"Did you see that, Mom?! I did it!" Star shouted, with Moon covering her mouth and gesturing her to whisper before letting her continue, where she whispered, "I did the kamahamana!"

"Yes, you did, darling, and I'm proud of you for that," Moon hugged Star. "Now please, go to sleep and don't try to practice some other spell behind my back, alright?"

Star just nodded, and the mother-daughter pair continued to hug as the fireworks briefly morphed into a firework recreation of their hug, before fully dissipating into nothingness.
