Johnny Greaser Girl helped me write most of this! So kudos to her!

I do NOT own The Outsiders...sadly enough

My Hero Is You

You know I try to be
All that I can
But there's a part of me
I still don't understand

Why do I only see
What I don't have
When my reality
Its things are not that bad

Your faith has shown me that

When my world goes crazy
You won't let go
When the ground gets shaky
You give me hope
When I try to push you away
You never move, yeah

Now when I start doubting and
You help me see
There's a strength, and a mind, and a power in me
Oh believe me thereain't nothing I can't do
My hero is you, yeah
My hero is you

I never saw the way
You sacrificed
Who knew the price you paid
How can I make it right
I know I've gotta try

When my world goes crazy
You won't let go
When the ground gets shaky
You give me hope
When I try to push you away
You never move, yeah

Now when I start doubting and
You help me see
There's a strength, and a mind, and a power in me
You believe there ain't nothing I can't do
My hero is you, yeah
My hero is you

And I hope that you can see
You're everything that I wanna be, ooh

When my world goes crazy
You won't let go
When the ground gets shaky
You give me hope
When I try to push you away
You never move, yeah

Now when I start doubting and
You help me see
There's a strength, and a mind, and a power in me
Oh believe me there ain't nothing I can't do
My hero is you, yeah
My hero is you

My hero is you

Chapter OneHaunting Dreams

I woke up in a cold sweat. It happened again! My dream; but I could remember this dream. It happened every night.

I was walking in an empty field somewhere, wandering around. I always came to a cliff, and peered over. Suddenly, I fall, flying down through the air; secretly wishing that I would fall to my death- I miss Johnny and Heather so much. But suddenly, as I'm about to hit the ground, I am picked up by a sudden gust of air and placed gently on the ground. But it isn't air. It is Johnny. I reach out and touch his face to find out if he's real. I can feel his skin; he's not a ghost. "Johnny, you're my hero," I always say. But he doesn't say it was worth it, like he did with the little kids. He always says, "Everything's alright Ponyboy. Don't be sad, I'm fine; Dally's fine; we're okay." Then, before I can hug him, or say anything, he disappears. Just like that. And I'm left at the bottom of a cliff with my thoughts and feelings.

But this dream was different that night. Something different happened this time. Johnny said more to me. This time he added to his normal words, "Ponyboy, go to school tomorrow. Smile at everyone you meet. Be the good kid I always know you are. Someone's coming back. You need to be there. It's what you want-" He seemed cut off, but I think that was all he wanted to say. Who was coming back? What did I want? I couldn't figure it out…'It's just a dream, Ponyboy,' I told myself…It's just a dream.

I reached out for Sodapop, instinctively. My heart sunk though when I felt the cold covers, with no dead-to-the-world lump in it. I forgot; Sodapop had been at war for two months and I couldn't get over it. Maybe it was Sodapop that was coming back!…My heart sunk again. I had a feeling Soda wasn't. It had been three years since Johnny died.
