He Will Follow Her
Scarlet arms folded
in a defensive posture
his walls are secure.
She utters kind words
and offers him
acceptance
with no strings
attached.
Cautious he remains
even as he lets her in.
He begins to trust.
Time passes swiftly
Old barriers soon
vanish,
banished by a smile.
Arms now unfolded
wrapped around this
strange young girl
Fate has intervened.
Blood soaks pristine
white,
He swears he will not
lose her
But words will not
heal.
She whispers goodbye
Saving and breaking his
heart
with love's final kiss.
Scarlet arms folded
Laid across his silent
chest.
He will follow her.
