~ Not the Girl~

Chapter 1: Of Cheerleaders and Friends

I slammed my locker, "This is low Chris! Real low, even for you!" I shouted down the hall, not noticing the looks I got from other students. My so called best friend, Chris had just told me he was going out with Leslie Smith, my least favorite person in the world, the cheerleader with perfect blonde hair who looked down at people like me, people who actually played a sport.

"What do you mean low!? I didn't do anything wrong!" Chris shouted back. The people around us were forming a circle around us like they were getting a show or something. "WRONG! You didn't do anything wrong? No of course not! You just asked out the only girl in the world that I can't see you going out with!" I scoffed.

"Ok so I asked her out, she didn't have to say yes! Elanor can't you be happy for me?" Chris pleaded. "And how can I be happy for you if you're going out with that blonde-cheerleading- Barbie- bimbo?! Don't you know I HATE her?" I stormed off. "ELLY! Don't you dare call my girlfriend that!" yelled Chris. "What's this? Chris is that twerp annoying you?" said Leslie sliding her arm around Chris's neck. "You know that party of mine? She can't go." She chided batting her eyelashes at Chris. "Why you little.. It's ok Chris I'll go. I don't plan on going to any party of hers anyways they're all dumb just like her." I said storming off.

"One more week and then Spring Break I can't wait!" I said sarcastically, slamming the door behind me. "Hey kiddo! What's eating you?" asked my older brother. "Chris." I said sweetly, making a fake smile. Just then we heard knocking at the door. "I'm not home!" I whispered to my brother. "Ok.. Hi 'ya Chris! How are you?.." He said opening the door. That was all I heard as I ran up the stairs cracking up. My brother was going to beat Chris up!

I snuck into the kitchen wrote a note saying I was going out for a bike ride, and made some sandwiches. "I'm sixteen and I don't have a car. This is great." I complained. As I was walking outside I remembered that I left my cell phone in my room I ran up stairs to get it. In my room I grabbed my backpack, and looked around.

The room was full of Lord of the Rings posters and maps of Middle earth. On my dresser lay the copy of the "One Ring" that Chris gave me for my birthday. On my bulliten board were all the photos and ticket stubs of the movie. If anyone walked in my room they could tell I liked Lord of the Rings. My brother called me obsessed I called it a hobby. Started by Chris on my birthday December 19, 2001, the day the Fellowship went into theaters. I fastened the ring around my neck and walked outside.

"Elly! Your brother told me you were going for a bike ride.", panted Chris as he ran towards me. His eye was black and his lip was split. I bit my lip as he came near me. "Shove it Chris, I'm not talking to you, not now, not ever." "Well FINE then! I don't need your friendship!" he yelled as I sped off towards the woods.

A/N: No I don't hate Cheerleaders in fact I do believe cheerleading is a sport. I must confess that I have no control over what I write, the pen just moves to whatever comes out of my head! *shudders* ok and I don't think blondes are stupid either. *smiles* so if you all review this I'll write more otherwise you must all suffer my Irish/Italian temper! *shudders* Oh Lord save us all!
