.
the man who isn't there
.
(look in his eyes for a dying flare
look for the wind in his yellow hair
and pretend you see the man who isn't there)
.
Demyx likes to smile.
He likes to smile, and laugh— drunk of bubbly viciousness as he sings beautiful beautiful songs luring out the creatures of the night. And there are those nights when it's just so quiet and everyone is asleep— that he'd start actually singing beautiful tenors with the silence in a beautiful duet.
If the other members heard it— they'd never say a word, just go about their way in silence.
(He doesn't mind.)
.
Demyx thinks that he was a musician in the past.
He thinks he was a musician who sang and sang and was in love with the prettiest girl ever— with green green electric green eyes, who had a gorgeous smile.
And he killed her fiancé.
Then she kept moaning and weeping, and he kept smiling even though she kept wondering through her tears, why she was in love with a monster.
There was a knife to her chest— and Demyx watched as the knife fell from her hand as she fell, licking his lips at the sight of the red blood.
(And maybe, just maybe he thinks that this is just a dream, but he realizes it's not— and howls into the moon, grinning.)
.
Demyx doesn't care.
He doesn't care what the members whisper among themselves, about him— he just keeps on swimming through water and crossing the ice. And if the ice breaks through— he'll continue to swim.
(Because Demyx doesn't have anything to prove.)
.
Demyx doesn't have anything to prove.
Demyx already committed the greatest sin when he was alive— he killed his loved ones. So when they question why he isn't getting up, he just stares back at them grinning and says—
"I've already done so much for myself. There isn't a need for me to do more."
(They just shake their heads and walk away.)
.
Demyx was the most accepting of all of them when it comes to their deaths.
He's got a good number of people to be waiting for him— wherever he's going.
.
the end
.
(Demyx wonders if he was really ever there, because all around him he can see faint shadows of his life, but life in those shadows.
He laughs when he realizes that there was never a life in the darkness.)
