Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Diesel Does it Again" from Season 3, with added lines by tate310, Enjoy and comment.
Duck and Percy enjoy working at the harbor. They push and pull freight cars full of cargo to the quay.
But one morning, the engines were exhausted. The harbor was busier than ever.
Sir Topham Hatt promised that another engine would come and help them.
"It's about time!" said Percy.
"I worked so much that I can hardly get my wheels to turn an inch!" agreed Duck.
They waited for the engine to arrive, but were surprised at who showed up. It was Diesel!
"Good morning!" said Diesel in a oily voice.
The two engines were cross. They wanted someone nice, not mean.
"What are you doing here?" gasped Duck.
"Sir Topham Hatt sent me. I hope that you are pleased to see me again. I am to shunt some troublesome cars."
"Shunt where?" said Percy.
"Where? From here to there of course." purred Diesel. "And then from there to here."
Then Diesel started to bump some freight cars very hard. The cars screamed like crazy, while Diesel growled.
Percy and Duck were horrified. They did not trust Diesel at all. They refused to work and stayed in their sheds.
Sir Topham Hatt was drinking tea and eating a frosted honeybun when the telephone rang.
"So there's trouble at the harbor? I'll be there right away!"
Diesel was working loudly and alone when Sir Topham Hatt arrived. He noticed cargo lying on the quay, and cross people waiting for important ships to arrive. This caused confusion and delay.
The people told Sir Topham Hatt how bad of a railway he ran. This made him very cross.
When he saw Duck and Percy sulking in the sheds, he became even more cross.
"What is going on here?!" demanded Sir Topham Hatt.
"We're on strike!" yelled Percy.
"Yes." said Duck. "Beg pardon sir, but we won't work with Diesel! You told us he was sent packing!"
"He was the only engine available, and I needed to give him a second chance. You both said you needed some extra help, so you will both respect him. If you decide not to help him, then you will return back to Tidmouth Sheds.
Duck and Percy set back off to work.
Next morning, things weren't better. Diesel's driver hadn't put his brakes on properly, and Diesel started to move, bumping right into Percy!
"Wake up Percy!" called Diesel. "You have work to do!"
He didn't even say sorry to Percy.
Later, Diesel bumped the freight cars so hard, that the loads went everywhere!
"What will Sir Topham Hatt say?" gasped Percy.
"He'll be very cross." said Duck.
"Are two tattletales going to tell Sir Topham Hatt on me?" said Duck.
Percy and Duck did not wanted to be tattletales, so they said nothing.
Later, Diesel was ruder than ever. He was shunting freight cars full of china clay, when he banged the cars into the buffers, sending the cars into the harbor! The silly cars were sunk.
The cars weren't damaged, but the clay was lost.
That night, Sir Topham Hatt came. He was BEYOND furious at Diesel.
"What you have caused today, is very unacceptable! You have not only caused confusion and delay, but you have lost the china clay! Things were much better here before you arrived, so I'm sending you back. As far as I'm concerned, if you want to come back to Sodor, you need to teach yourself to behave!"
Diesel sulked off sadly.
Then, Sir Topham Hatt turned to Percy and Duck.
"You won't mind having to work by yourselves?"
"No sir!" whistled the two engines as they set away.
