A/N: It's my first Maureen-centric story! Bear with me if it isn't too good because I'm one of those purebred Cangel-ites! Hehehe
Disclaimer: Last time I checked I'm not JL the great.
Maureen always knew that she was different, but she never felt like she was wrong. She remembered when she was almost nine, her parents made her go to one of those extremely close minded churches and she hated it. They would tell her that what she thought that she was was sick and twisted and wrong. She would cry and scream when she had to go. Sure she was almost nine, but she was a drama queen. When she was about 13 they gave up on making her go and just let her sleep in the morning.
She finally found out what she was during eighth grade. Some friends of hers were making fun of a girl and she asked them what they were talking about. They told her that the girl was a 'lesbo' and to stay away from her or she'd get the 'disease.' She left them before they could see her cry. That was the moment she knew she needed new friends.
Maureen decided that she couldn't go home crying, so she hid in the park. A boy she knew, he was a year older so they weren't really friends, sat down by her and asked if she was okay. She didn't even think about what she said before just blurting out I'm Gay. The boy told her that he was Tom Collins, but please call him Collins, and that he should come with him.
She followed like he said that he was leading her to all the riches in the world. Where he lead her to was even better. Collins took her too his place where a group of friends were sitting. Angel, Mark, Roger, Joanne, Mimi, and Benny. She instantly felt like a part of their small, strange family. They told her that Angel was a boy, even though that he was in a beautifully made skirt, and that he was with Collins, that Mimi and Roger weren't dating anymore, but would probably make up before they left, Benny was there because he and Collins had been best friends for forever, Mark filmed everything he saw, and Joanne. Joanne was one of the most beautiful people Maureen had ever seen. She was so quiet and shy, but the drama queen felt the need to be near her at all times.
They also told her that they all went to her school, except Collins, Roger, and Benny were all freshman in High School, and Joanne went to the all girls' school across town. Eventually, she had to leave, but they all invited her back for the next day. Maureen decided that she was going to come out to her parents that night.
But instead of letting her tell them her news, the Johnson parents told her that she was transferring to the same school as Joanne.
Maureen decided that they would find out later…
A/N: Did you like it? I kind of do. I don't write Maureen often, but I thought I'd take a stab at it. This is kind of loosely based on how I figured out that I am bi, so…yeah. Review, s'il tout plait!
