Wolset sighed deeply. There was no other way to put it – they had been slaughtered out there today. The Own had come across a large group of Scanran soldiers who had been outnumbered by the Own two to one. However, in their numbers there had been numerous powerful mages and the simple battle had turned into one of illusions and foul play.
'Whatever happened to a good, fair battle?' Wolset thought to himself. 'Whatever happened to all's fair in love and war?'.
Brightening considerably Wolset remembered Dom's promise to him last night to help set him up with the lovely Lady Knight herself, Kel. Smiling he walked off in search of Dom or Kel.
As he passed one of the barracks he heard the sound of laughter and turned to see Dom walking with his arm around Kel and his mouth next to her ear whispering something to her. She pulled away from him to laugh at his comment.
Wolset stood there, crushed, and whispered to himself, "Yeah, whatever happened to all's fair in love and war?"
