Disclaimer: I don't own Sly Cooper or anything related to Sly Cooper... and that feels like a Sucker Punch (sorry, couldn't help myself).
Set after Sly2.
A Tiger's Trait
A summer's wind wrapped itself around the famous Parisian landmark, the Eiffel Tower, and as it entwined it's way upwards towards the tower's needle point, it shook the figure squatted on top of it. Yet while the figure's blue topped was whipped about constantly and the binoc-u-com at his eyes were nearly being blown away, the perched figure itself was steady as a rock and almost as a patient. With years of experience, patience was a value that had been engrained into his character. Yet as it nearly always had, his patience had paid off. Magnified far, far below, he watched as a couple of distant figures finally exited the doors and the parisian night flowed into the building to replace the neon lights.
"Sly? Sly? Come in Sly."
The sudden interruption in the raccoon's concentration and train of thought was startling and Sly had to spread his hands for balance. Instinctively, he used his ring-patterned tail to counter-balance his family cane. Yet even with the danger of falling, the nasal whine from his binoc-u-com still managed to free a fleeting smile from his lips.
"Relax Bentley, I'm here. What's up?"
"I'm sick of this run-of-the-mill wheelchair. I need you to gather some raw materials for me."
"Alright Bentley, I can do that when I get back. Make sure you have a list and where I can get them. Knowing you, it would probably be something I can't even pronounce."
Suddenly Sly felt the miniature weights in the binoc-u-com start to shift to the right. Bentley's ingenious mind had thought them up so that he could direct where he'd like Sly to look on the job. Bentley once tried to explain how they work but Sly had got scared at "special titanium polymer" and had just stopped listening when the words got past five syllables. Obediently, he swung his view around to the right and continued until he felt the weight settle again.
"Hmmm, you must be at a considerable elevation to achieve such a spectacular vantage point. That leaves only one conclusion. Sly, why are you on the Eiffel Tower?"
"Well Bentley, we haven't done a job in months and I'm a small bit bored. So I thought I'd mess with Carmelita a bit. You know, just to pass the time. So I'm going to break into her office and leave her a little note. Just so she knows that I'm thinking of her."
"Yeah, probably a bit too much. Wait a second Sly; you could have got a perfectly adequate vantage point closer to police headquarters. Why are you so far away?"
"Well, after three hours of being in the Ninja Spire position, your muscles get a bit stiff and cramped. It makes climbing and sneaking down from places a bit slow, boring and extremely uncomfortable."
"Yeah...that's...wait, what? That doesn't really answer my question. This isn't fair! I'm not the one who's supposed to be confused!"
Laughing silently to himself, Sly decided to do the only thing possible in this situation and show Bentley exactly what he meant.
He jumped.
First chapter done and first one ever written so reviews greatly appreciated.
