Her hand twitches in mine.

I jump up, eyes widening in disbelief.

"Doctor! Doctor!" Three coming running from different places on the floor. I can hear their footsteps pounding on the floor as they approach the room. They fly through the door and immediately surround the bed. "I think she's waking up! Her hand moved!" I smile at the doctor nearest me. He puts a hand on my shoulder.

"Now, sun." One of the other doctors yells loudly in triumph. I look down at her. And she looks back at me, pushing herself up in bed and taking in the scene around her. I can feel the tears running down my cheeks as I put my hands on her shoulders, grinning through the tears.

"You did it Mia! I knew you could do it." She smiles weakly back at me and tugs on my sleeves. I lean in, wondering what she has to say.

"I wouldn't advise…"

It's one of the doctors, she's seen through Mia's plan before I understand it myself, but her hand is already on my neck as she pulls me towards her with strength she shouldn't have and forces her lips onto mine. The kiss tastes salty from my tears, but I'm too lost in her to notice.

Clapping. The curtains were open. Everyone sees. And they're clapping. Me leaning onto her bed. Tubes trailing from all over her body, connecting to the machines filling the room. Hospital sounds surrounds us. But there we are, kissing in the midst of is all. She pulls away and opens her eyes, once again bright with life and joy. I breathe a sigh of relief and crawl onto the bed next to her. We sit like that for hours, clutching each other. Crying off and on. Kissing now and then. Both wondering, who saved who?
