Emotional Support

The darken sky cried like a weeping widow. Izumo Kamiki walked through the heavy rain on the grounds of True Cross Academy. She luckily brought her umbrella with her before the rain started. She had just gotten back from a mission with the other Exorcist students.

She was then called on another assignment. She was to find Ryuji Suguro since he had disappeared after the mission. It didn't make much sense considering what happened during the mission; he should have been at the hospital.

Her feet walked through the watery path of the walkway up to the academy while free her hand was placed in her hoodie's pocket when she spotted someone on the steps. She leaned forward to get a better look. Ryuji Suguro sat on the middle of the steps to the Academy. The teenage boy was hunch over with his head down and was completely soaked in the rain.

"What is that stupid gorilla doing?" She walked up to the boy. She gazed down at him to see that his tears were running down his face that mingled with the rain. His hair was down around his face as well, making his misery complete.

"What's got you all down?" Izumo questioned. "You look like you lost your familiar or something?"

"Leave me alone, Izumo?" Ryuji said.

"I can't." Izumo moved over beside him and sat down, covering them both from the rain with the umbrella. "I was sent to bring you to the hospital. They think you should go visit the others and make sure they are alright."

"There's no way I can do that," Ryuji said. Sadness and frustration build up inside of the pit of his stomach. He balled up his hands into fists that trembled on his legs. "I can't face Konekomaru and Shima after what I did."

Izumo shut her eyes and titled her head to the side. "You didn't do anything."

"I mess up the fatal verse," Ryuji said. They had been battling against a group of ghouls and the only way to take them all out at once was to use their fatal verse; however, Ryuji had said a single word wrong in his desperate need to finish when the demon's got too close to Shima and Konekomaru resulting in them both being seriously injured. "If Okamaru was there he could have kept everyone safe."

Izumo looked out toward the rain. "You made a mistake. If you keep beating yourself up over one slip of the tongue then you'll never defeat Satan."

Ryuji stopped his self pity to look over at the girl. He was more than surprise by her little statement. "Weren't you the one who laughed at my dream of defeating Satan?"

Izumo gazed down. "It's still a ridiculous dream, but you've worked hard to get this far. You can't go around second guessing yourself forever or you'll never move forward. Believe me, I know that much." Izumo remembered back to when Paku was attacked by a ghoul and she wasn't able to help her. She had to rely on Rin.

Ryuji stared at her for a moment more then looked out to the rain. "Yeah, I guess you got a point there."

Izumo shifted her large red eyes toward the boy. She slightly blushed at the sight of the boy smiling. She quickly regained her composer and shut her eyes, returning to her cold demeanor. "You should get to the hospital. I'm sure your flunkies are missing their Gorilla leader."

Ryuji brought his attention back to the girl. He would normally get mad and start an argument with cold hearted tamer, but she had made him feel better so he decided to drop it. "Thanks for your help, Izumo."

Izumo opened her eyes to see his smiling face. He then stood up and ran down the pathway. Izumo followed him with her eyes. She smirked. "Stupid Gorilla."
